Billy Childers, 92, of Joiner passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. He was born in Wardell on February 27, 1933 to Willie and Ruth Childers. Billy was a member of Wardell Baptist Church, Louise Chapel Cemetery Board, Birdsong-Whitton Water Board and he served 20 years on the School Board for Rivercrest District. Billy is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Kirk) Lewis; grandchildren, Nathan (Paula) Lindley, Billy (Bethany) Edings; great-grandchildren, Amber Lindley, Chase Lindley, Gloria Edings; brother, Paul Childers and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Childers; his son, Robert Childers; his parents; brother, Lear Childers and his sisters, Willa Mae Childers and Mable Humble.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Billy. Have alot of memories of him and Ms. Violet and the whole family ffom going to church at Wardell and growing up in that area. Prayers for each of you and may God give you comfort and strength during this time.

So sad to hear this. He was a great uncle, with a quirky sense of humor (which included tossing a big bullfrog into the tub while I was taking a bath when I was eight years old, and gassing me from the ammonia tank!). He will be missed. Grace and Peace from the God of All Comfort upon all who knew and loved him. Wish we could be there. Much love from Japan.
