Loretta Hardy, 88, of Elaine, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in Marianna, Arkansas. She was born in Blooming Grove, Texas on Thursday, August 26, 1937 to the late Claude Bunn and Irene Hitt Bunn.
Loretta lived a full and active life. Her moto was ''you sit down, you go down''. She liked to stay busy all the time. Loretta was an elementary librarian for over thirty years and loved books. Reading was her favorite past time. She was a very active member at the Lambrook Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and lead various activities. Loretta loved her family more than anything and enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.
She is survived by her two children, Larry Hardy (Debbie) and Karen Hardesty (Shawn); six grandchildren, whom she called ''the original six pack'', Jamie Allbritton (Brad), Mollie Manning (Matt), Patrick Hardy (Abby), Matthew Hardesty (Nikki), Chad Hardesty (Tamera) and Darrin Hardesty (Natalie); sixteen great grandchildren, Jozef James, Morgan Hardesty, Keragan Hardesty, Remi Hardesty, Eli Hardesty, Charlie Hardesty, Samuel Hardesty, Micah Hardesty, Levi Manning, Brody Manning, Maverick Manning, Abbie Allbritton, Lawson Allbritton, Lydia Allbritton, Layton Hardy and Nolan Hardy.
Loretta is preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-four years, Earnest Hardy; parents, Claude and Irene Bunn; four brothers and two sisters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Manning, Chad Hardesty, Patrick Hardy, Darrin Hardesty, Brad Allbritton and Matthew Hardesty.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jr. Guest and Greg Faulkner.
A funeral service honoring Loretta Hardy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, Arkansas. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena, Arkansas. Brother John Compton will officiate.
