of Maumelle, AR
April 19, 1955 - October 5, 2025
Barbara Marguerite McClintock of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Alexandria, Virginia, on April 19, 1955, to William and Barbara McClintock.
Barbara is survived by her children Vanessa (John) of Florida, Jennifer (Mark) of Arkansas, and Matthew (Lindsey) of Arkansas; her cherished grandchildren Luke, Mackenzie, Millie, and Hazel; her sister Beth Green of South Carolina; brothers Dr. William McClintock (Christy) of Virginia and Michael McClintock of Colorado; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Patricia Schneeman of Virginia.
Barbara's life was defined by her deep love for family, faith, and animals. She found great joy in rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need, and her beloved dogs, Tequila and Lexi, were constant companions. She also delighted in quilting, crafting, and traveling, with one of her favorite experiences being the chance to swim with dolphins. She was known for her quick wit, her sweet tooth, passed down from her father, and her playful habit of breaking into song during everyday conversations. She was a devoted Christian whose gentle spirit and compassion touched all who knew her.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Conway Regional Hospital ICU and Baptist Health Extended Care for the compassion and care shown during the past month.
In keeping with Barbara's wishes, no formal funeral or memorial service will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date to celebrate her life and legacy.
Barbara's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones, as they take comfort in knowing she is now whole and at peace with her Savior.
So sorry to hear about Barb's passing. I worked with her when she was at Tier Technologies in Reston. She was truly a great person and I know she loved animals as she watched my 2 when I traveled!
We also did an Avon Walk For Breast Cancer back in '04/'05 when she told me hers was back. I'm so glad she went on to enjoy many more years with her family. I know she loved her kids a lot as she spoke of them quite a bit!
Rest in peace my friend as you deserve it. ❤️
I was so sorry to see that Barb had passed. We talked a few years ago on FB. We had several classes together at MVHS. We were both following that secretarial path of typing and shorthand. And, we were really close. I was sorry not to see her at our 50th Reunion. My sincere condolences to all of you. She was still so young.
We will always remember you with fond memories. From your classmate at Mount Vernon High School. Rest on peace dear Barbara.
Hi Jennifer! I'm very sorry to hear about your Mom. We both were animal lovers and enjoyed catching up on our pets every time we met. I'm very thankful that Barb knew her Savior, Jesus Christ, and that you know you will be with her again some day. I'll be praying for you and the family. Love, Mariella
I will always remember Ms. Barbara's kindness, wisdom and compassion. Prayers for the family.
My favorite memories of Barb are how she invited me to Thanksgiving when I was a teen and my parents were working weird hours, she shared tons of craft books with me, she came to see my new home and welcomed me to her home one Christmas after my divorce. She was a wonderful, kind woman and her love for animals made me like her even more. Plus, she raised 3 awesome kids. You will be missed Barb.
Ms. Barbara was such a kind, caring lady. She demonstrated her love for family and for her animals daily. She will be greatly missed. I'm sending all of you much love and keeping you in my prayers.
