Mary Lillian Shimkus (nee Shoefee), passed away on September 26, 2025. She was born on January 9, 1930 in Conway, AR.
Mary graduated from Conway High School and became a telephone switchboard operator. She married William A. Self and had two children, Stephen and David.
In 1982, she married Tony Shimkus and became a wonderful stepmother to Joe, Billy and Michael. Mary and Tony shared their love of travel and went on many adventures together.
Mary is survived by her sister, Dorothy (Georgia); her children, Stephen (Minneapolis) and David (Phoenix); her stepchildren, Billy (St Louis) and Michael (Seattle) and her grandson, Eric (Phoenix); along with several lifelong friends.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:00am.
