JC ''Charlie'' Blackwell passed away on September 23, 2025 at 88 years old, at home surrounded by family. Charlie was born on February 6, 1937 in Jacksonville, Texas to the late Ernest Marcus and Mary (Garrett) Blackwell. A true outdoorsman at heart, he found his greatest joys in hunting, fishing and the rodeo. When he wasn't in the woods, on the water or at the Rodeo, he was happiest spending time with his grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews, all of whom brought endless pride and joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Shirley Blackwell; four daughters, Tina Thomas (Roger), Jami Henderson, Myette Storey (Michael) and Missy Avey; three sisters, Mary Sutterfield, Pauline Battaglear and Brenda Holden; nine grandkids, Candice McSpadden (Brad), Jessica Town (Lane), Carly May (Ryan), Karissa Brewer (Cody), Cody Thomas (Julie Ann), Cheyenne O'Brien (Nate), Ashtynn Bowlin (Jake), Mattie Avey and Hayden Storey (Brianna); sixteen great grandkids; along with many extended family and friends.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings: four sisters, three brothers and one great grandson.

Visitation is Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 6:00-8:00PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services are Friday, September 26, 2025, 10:00AM at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas with Brother John Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sugar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Roger Thomas, Michael Storey, Cody Thomas, Ryan May, Russell Sutterfield and Joe Blackwell.

Honorary Pallbearers are Hayden Storey, Brayden Clark, Scooter Thomas, Jax May, Liam Town and Layton Town.

Sad to hear of Uncle Charlie's passing. He was such a wonderful man. He was one of a kind and one of the last cowboys of his generation. His work ethic was tireless. I have called him Uncle Charlie for forty- nine years. Prayers for all of you.
