JC ''Charlie'' Blackwell passed away on September 23, 2025 at 88 years old, at home surrounded by family. Charlie was born on February 6, 1937 in Jacksonville, Texas to the late Ernest Marcus and Mary (Garrett) Blackwell. A true outdoorsman at heart, he found his greatest joys in hunting, fishing and the rodeo. When he wasn't in the woods, on the water or at the Rodeo, he was happiest spending time with his grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews, all of whom brought endless pride and joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Shirley Blackwell; four daughters, Tina Thomas (Roger), Jami Henderson, Myette Storey (Michael) and Missy Avey; three sisters, Mary Sutterfield, Pauline Battaglear, and Brenda Holden; nine grandkids, Candice McSpadden (Brad), Jessica Town (Lane), Carly May (Ryan), Karissa Brewer (Cody), Cody Thomas (Julie Ann), Cheyenne O'Brien (Nate), Ashtynn Bowlin (Jake), Mattie Avey and Hayden Storey (Brianna); sixteen great grandkids; along with many extended family and friends.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings; four sisters and three brothers; and one great grandson.

Pallbearers are Roger Thomas, Michael Storey, Cody Thomas, Ryan May, Russell Sutterfield and Joe Blackwell.

Honorary Pallbearers are Hayden Storey, Brayden Clark, Scooter Thomas, Jax May, Liam Town and Layton Town.
