John Albert Jenkins was born on December 23, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee to Earl C. and Myrtle (Whittamore) Jenkins and went to be with the angels on Friday, August 22, 2025. He was 78 years old.

John was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a half brother and a sister, Alene Watson.

He was a longtime resident of Clinton, Arkansas. John is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 54 years, Mary Jean Stringer Jenkins, His son, John A. Jenkins II, a stepdaughter, Brenda Alexander of Fairfield Bay, his sister, Louise Monday (Richard) of Bee Branch, grandchildren, Trevor Jenkins of Clinton and Ashylnn Frederick of Greenbrier, John had a special nephew, Jimmy Watson of Little Rock. Trevor and Ashlynn were bright shining stars in Johnny's eyes and heart. John loved Milo and Tobey, Mary and his two dogs that loved sitting in the recliners with him.
