of Tyronza, AR
December 31, 1940 - September 12, 2025
Robert ''Bobby'' Albert Tacker, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Whitton, Arkansas on September 12, 2025.
Bobby was born and raised in Whitton, where he grew up with his parents and five siblings. From a young age, he developed a love for farming, fishing, camping and hunting with his family. He was often found working in the fields as a boy, laying the foundation for a lifetime of dedication to the land. Bobby accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in high school. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Joiner, AR and attended mass with his wife and children at St. Norbert's at Marked Tree, AR for many years and then never missed a baptism, first communion or other important events.
After graduating from high school, Bobby stepped away from farming to serve his country as a medic in the U.S. Air Force. During that time, he met the love of his life, Donna. They married and built a beautiful family together, raising seven children. Bobby was the embodiment of hard work, loyalty and love. After marrying Donna, the couple settled in Earle, where he worked in construction and served as a volunteer firefighter and police officer. In 1976, Bobby built their home in Whitton and returned to farming, a passion he never set aside. Even just a week before his passing, he was out on his side-by-side, checking his fields.
Bobby's strength and determination were evident throughout his life and especially during his courageous 21-year battle with cancer. He never complained. Through it all he loved and supported his family, showed up to every hunting season and continued to keep all his children in line. His home may have always been loud, but he would not have had it any other way.
Bobby is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Donna Sue Gardner Tacker; his parents, Cletus and Dorothy Tacker; his siblings, Francis Cowden, Janice Colbert and Linda Pierce. His surviving siblings are Nancy Cartwright of West Helena, AR and Cletus Tacker of Lepanto AR; His beloved children, Joe (Reatha) Tacker of Whitton, Judy (Ben) Meyer of Whitton, Missy (Eddie) Kitchens of Whitton, Nikki (Jim) Speer of Rector AR, Bret Tacker of Whitton, Chris (Jaylene) Tacker of Whitton and Juliane Veach of Lost Cane, AR. Bobby was known as ''Papaw'' to 24 grandchildren and their spouses. He had 59 great grandchildren. Papaw loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Teaching them to hunt and fish, watching them run wild at his house or just sharing stories, he loved watching them grow. And they loved him and his smile and his love for his family. His legacy of loyalty, hard work and love will live on through them.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. Public visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm and the funeral services will begin at 2 pm. Burial will be held at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity or St. Norbert's Church in Marked Tree, AR. The family encourages attendees to wear camouflage in honor of Bobby's love and passion for hunting.
