Margaret Earline Criddle, 94, of Poplar Grove, Arkansas, passed away on September 12, 2025. She was born on March 24, 1931, in Turner, Arkansas, to Clarence and Adell Russell and was one of eight children.
She attended school at Good Luck before marrying the love of her life, C.L. Criddle. Together they raised three children, and being a mother was her greatest joy. Known for always having homemade cookies and cakes ready for anyone who stopped by Margaret's home was filled with love and hospitality.
She especially treasured time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as two special little girls she cared for in later years, Jessica and Gretchen. When she wasn't caring for others, she enjoyed tending her garden and was a faithful member of Trenton Baptist Church, where she loved her church family dearly.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Adell Russell; her husband, C.L. Criddle; her son, Coleman Criddle Jr.; her brothers Clarence Russell Jr., William ''Sonny'' Russell, and David Russell; and her sisters Joyce Thomas, Ethelene Gschwend, and Josephine Wiles.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Alexander (Nickie) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; her son, Clarence ''Marty'' Criddle (Sue) of Stilwell, Oklahoma; her sister, Christine Hood of Brinkley, Arkansas; her sister-in-law, Nicole Russell of Killeen, Texas; four grandchildren, Lyn Alexander (Angie), Nicole Long (Matt), Chris Criddle (Kendra), and Jessica Purvis; great-grandchildren, Victoria Alexander, Elizabeth Arrowood (Quenton), Austin Alexander (Emmit), Alexandria May, Adrian May, Coleman Criddle, Chris Criddle Jr, Jaden Criddle, Katelyn Purvis and Xander Purvis; Great-Great Grandchildren Aubree Alexander, Blakelee Arrowood and Cody Vaughn and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Margaret will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and her unwavering faith. Her love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Services will be held at Bob Neal & Sons Brickell Funeral Home, 350 Highway 49, Marvell, Arkansas on Monday, September 15, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
