I got to know Steve through buying furniture at Dillards. He was always a pleasure to deal with and honest as they come. God Bless Steve and his family. Rest in Peace.

So sorry to hear about Steve. I bought his boat a couple of years ago and had the opportunity to take him fishing once. He was a great guy and I enjoyed every conversation we had. We had so many things in common from fishing to our faith and playing guitar. Crossing paths with him I believe was God appointed and I'm a better man for having known him what little I did. I know several guys in the "fishing world" that are mourning the loss. Love and prayers to you're entire family.

Lynda,
I'm so sorry I just found out about Steve. He was a great guy, always smiling and encouraging. I pray for peace and comfort for you and your family. Keith

Steve was a very nice spoken man. He always had something nice to say. He enjoyed talking about fishing and his boat :). He was truly missed when he retired from Dillard's and will be truly missed as he is now with the Lord. My condolences.

It is so hard to say "See You Later" to someone after 40+ years of friendship. Our close friends group that started in the 1980s at Evangel Church has remained close & caring throughout all the years and the many changes all our lives have taken. Steve was such a big part of our group with his great sense of humor, kind heart, servant attitude and general caring personality. And he blessed us all with his incredible talent as a soloist and guitar musician. One of my most special memories of Steve is during a visit to Nashville that he and his daughter, Amanda made about 26 years ago. I took them to the Gibson Guitar studio & museum. Steve quickly struck up a conversation with the Guitar Curator who realized after a few minutes that he had a true guitar enthusiast visiting and offered Steve the opportunity to play what he described were "Gibson's usually untouchable and extremely expensive" guitars. The Curator and Steve played for at least 30 minutes on these special guitars. Steve was so excited to have had the opportunity and told me it was one of the best days of his life. While I'm sure it actually paled in comparison to some of the REAL best days of his life over the years, I will always be grateful for the unexpected experience for Steve and will cherish the special memory that made my friend so happy. Sending prayers for Steve & Lynda's family and for all of us who loved Steve.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the passing of Steve. I worked with him at Dillard's Park Plaza many years ago. He had a beautiful personality and he never met a stranger. He was a man of great faith and he demonstrated this in his everyday walk of life. Although he will be missed, he is now home with his heavenly Father.

My Condolences to the Family of Mr. Steve. Mr. Steve was the kind and personable man that helped me at Dillard's. He was by far one of the nicest people in that store. He helped me with my furniture purchases and made everything so easy and enjoyable. We talked about our kids and grandkids and even shared pictures from our phones. He absolutely loved his family!! I'm so glad that I met him. His kindness shall never be forgotten.
Prayers to the family!

Bill and I have known Steve for many years and we were shocked to hear of his accidental death. Services will not be the same without him and his guitar. Sending love and prayers to Lynda and children. I

I am so sorry to hear that Steve passed away. My wife and I have shopped at Dillard's for around forty years and we got to know Steve through our frequent visits to the Park Plaza Dillard's. Steve helped us with many furniture purchases. Even if we were not shopping for furniture, Steve always had the same friendly greeting. If our son was not with us, Steve always would ask how he was doing. I will certainly miss seeing Steve. My family's thoughts and prayers are with the Sherrill family
Respectfully,
