of Whiteville, AR
May 27, 1949 - September 2, 2025
Our best friend and brother, Dormon O. Hayes, joined his heavenly angels and God on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 in Whiteville, Arkansas.
Dormon was too busy to grow his own family. His friends were his family. He was so proud of the land he owned and went into a frenzy if it was not kept pristine. He had a remarkable history. He was a bus driver, a trucker "Dormon's Trucking Inc.", heavy equipment operator, Cessna Pilot, carpenter, electrician, plumber, skilled hunter and a professional workaholic. He loved people and his dog, Rowdy, but he hated armadillos, moles, weeds and liars.
Dormon leaves behind a brother, a sister and hundreds of friends. Dormon will always be in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Whiteville Baptist Church, 1138 CR 720, Gassville, Arkansas with interment to follow in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.
Gonna miss dormon, he was a great coworker and friend. Prayers for the family!
Dorman was a good friend. He went to whiteville Baptist church and my dad was the pastor. We had some great times, hayrides, weiner roast, and just fun times with our youth group. I am so sorry for his family and friends.
Growing up in Whiteville Baptist Church, I can't remember when I met Dorman. He was always there. sitting with the big boys, behind the pretty, big girls, and they were all trying to get attention instead of listening to the pastor But I don't think I'd ever sat and carried on a conversation or a friendship with him, until the last few years. He was wonderful to help my husband and I, with knowledge of my 79 Long diesel tractor, knowledge no one else had. I tried to repay Dorman, whenever I made pecan pies, John would take him one, over to his home. Never just dropping it off, but enjoying talking for an hour or two. Molly, my prayers are with you and your family, I too, will miss his wit, smile, friendship or just his wave whenever we met on Hwy 126.
