Carolyn Anne Purdy

of Harrison, AR

November 7, 1937 - September 3, 2025

Carolyn Anne Purdy, age 87, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away on September 3, 2025. Born on November 7, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, Carolyn was the daughter of Gile and Ruby (Dart) Leach. In August 1958, she married the love of her life, Dale A. Purdy, and together they shared 67 wonderful years.

Carolyn and Dale were blessed with one son, Robert Dale Purdy. When Robert married his wife Rhonda Blair, Carolyn lovingly gained a daughter-in-law. She was also a proud grandmother to Sean Purdy. All reside in Harrison.

Carolyn worked for many years at JC Penney in Harrison mall. She had a deep appreciation for beauty, her favorite flower was the white peony, and she expressed that love through her art. A gifted oil painter, she specialized in landscapes and earned recognition in local art shows for her work. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending cherished time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lawrence Leach.

Visitation was Monday, September 8, 2025, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison. Graveside service followed at White Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boone County Humane Society and The White Church Cemetery Fund.

Carolyn was always such a cool aunt to me when I was a little boy and we would visit. She was so much like my mom in a lot of ways that I tended to want to hang around Dale and Carolyn when we had family get togethers.
Losing a mom is hard, but having her around so long was a blessing for which we can be grateful.
I love you guys and wish I could have been there today for the visit.
