Shirley Williams, 79, of Melbourne passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

She was born July 14, 1946 in Forty Four, Arkansas to Grady Loyd Sherrill and Lena Faye (Owens) Sherrill.

She was united in marriage on June 23, 1962 to Glen Williams. They were happily married for 52 years until his passing in 2014.

Shirley was a member of Belview Baptist Church for four decades. She enjoyed spending time with her greatest joy, her family. She rarely missed an activity involving one of her grandchildren. She always looked forward to taking trips with her siblings. Shirley also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing board games and watching her favorite game shows. Her values of self-sacrifice, generosity and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Williams (Neesha) of Melbourne, Arkansas; one daughter, Debbie Foster (Johnny) of Elizabeth, Arkansas; one brother, Donnie Sherrill (Judy) of Bogata, Texas; three sisters, Lena Gillihan of Rock Falls, Illinois, Deloris Sublett (Michael) of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Rhonda Sherrill (Steven McCurley) of Salem, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Amber Runsick (Brad), Josh Foster (Kelly), Glenna Earnest (Chris), Ashley Foster (Cameron) and Evan Williams; four great grandchildren, Kate Runsick, Charlotte Runsick, Jonathan Earnest and Garrett Earnest; a special uncle, Marvis Sherrill; devoted friend, Howard Collier and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glen Williams.

Pallbearers are Josh Foster, Brad Runsick, Chris Earnest, James Sitton, David Jones and Ty Woodall. Honorary pallbearers are Evan Williams, Cameron Foster, Bob Rector and Rick Haney.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2:00pm at Belview Baptist Church with Bro. Logan Holladay and Bro. Raymond Carneal officiating. Burial will follow at Combs Cemetery in Melbourne.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

I am sorry about the loss of Shirley. I have known her for a long time. She and Glen were our
neighbors in Calico Rock when they were first married. I have also been on some bus tours with
her and would see her from time to time. She was always so nice and friendly. The family is
