Doris Evelyn Williams

of Benton, AR

July 29, 1926 - August 29, 2025

Doris Evelyn Williams (99) of Benton, AR passed away on August 29, 2025 from extreme old age, great genes, weirdly good health and sheer stubbornness. She was surrounded by her family's love.
Evelyn was born 7/29/1926 to Stewart Eugene McAllister and Alpha Melvonia LaFerney Lane in McRae, AR

Evelyn could usually be found working at something. She had a long career as a bookkeeper, first in the family business and then until she retired from the Arkansas Geology Commission. When she wasn't working in a professional capacity she could be found sewing, gardening, taking her daughters and neighborhood kids camping, forcing her grandkids into some home improvement project (usually in the dead of summer), volunteering, socializing with her Sunday school class, or hosting sleepovers with the grandkids.

Evelyn was a devoted mother and grandmother that shared her love for Jesus with her family and never missed an opportunity to witness.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, J. Harold Williams and her daughter Denise Elizabeth Berryhill. She is survived by her daughters Karen Alise Nutt (Bill) of Chicago, IL, Christy Ann Anderson (Zane) of Maumelle, AR, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and one soon-to-be great great grandchild.

There will be a celebration of her life at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Visitation will be at 10:30 A.M., funeral at 12:30 P.M. and graveside at 2:00 P.M. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Bryant.

Evelyn's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Mt. Carmel Community and especially Robyn and the sweet caring staff in Elijah's Place memory care. They were mom's family and home when we couldn't be there. Thank you.

Memorials can be made to Arkansas Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
