February 9, 1932 - September 1, 2025
Roland Patrick Renwald, age 93, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born February 9, 1932 in Calumet City, Illinois, the son of Edward and Genevieve (Otto) Renwald. He lived most of his life in Hammond, Indiana.
Roland was an Army veteran stationed in Germany. In 1960, he and his brothers started "Summer Song", which was an ice cream vending business. At about the same time, they started buying land in Boone and Marion counties in Arkansas because they loved the hills, valleys and wildlife there. During the winter months, Roland and his brothers would come to Arkansas to work their farms and then return to Indiana to work their vending business with the dream of one day retiring in Arkansas. In 1998, Roland finally retired and moved to Arkansas and took up cattle ranching full time. He loved to go fishing and being outdoors.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Renwald. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, William Renwald, Thomas and Irene Renwald, Robert Renwald, Daniel and Suzanne Renwald and Jean Renwald; his nieces and nephews, Thomas, Edward, Marisa Jones-Renwald, Andrew, Nathan, Amy Marquit-Renwald, Jessica Renwald-Kostikov, Emily Tudor and Celeste Renwald and a host of other family and many friends.
