Dewayne Edison Phillips

of North Little Rock, AR

December 17, 1942 - August 29, 2025

Dewayne Edison Phillips, age 82, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born on December 17, 1942 to the late Toy Phillips and Joyce Woodard.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Naomia Ruth Phillips; three children, Vancel Phillips, Angela Phillips and Nathan Phillips; his brother, James Phillips and both of his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Valarie Wood; his granddaughters, Avan Moore and husband, Andy and London Wood; his grandson, Jude Phillips; his great-grandchildren, Alyssa Dixon and Parker Moore; his sisters, Carolyn Bateman, Charlotte Bland and Susan Schubert and husband, Derek; as well as a host of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

Dewayne was a member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church and lived a life of hard work and integrity. He worked for many years as an iron worker and later as a maintenance mechanic at Chickopee and Molex, where he was known for his work ethic, skills and reliability-missing only two days of work in his entire career.

A man of many talents, whatever he put his hands to was done right. He had a deep appreciation for antique cars, music and possessed a natural gift for auto repair. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and engaging in lively discussions about politics and current events. He was a man of his word. He believed in hard work, saving for the future and took pride in owning everything he had outright.

Dewayne's legacy is one of family and the unshakable belief in doing what is right. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

So sorry for your loss. Praying for your family.
We both loved old classic cars, and he would send me pictures of cool rides often even though we didn't see each other often.
We both had similar taste in what we loved about the old classics.
A lot of people will miss him including me.

''See you on the flip flop, love you'' is what grandpa would always tell me before I'd leave or hang up the phone.😢 He was the best grandpa and fill in dad I could have asked for.. My life will never be the same again without him in it…
