of Romance, AR
May 31, 1940 - August 26, 2025
Harvey F. ''Buddy'' Jobe of Romance, Arkansas completed his earthly journey on August 26, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 31, 1940, in Beebe, Arkansas to Faris Nealon and Minnie Lee Newman Jobe. He was a member of the Romance Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Brandy Jobe, his sister, Evelyn Sue Jobe Ruvolo and one grandson, Evan Rorie.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Courtney (Benny) Rorie of Romance, Arkansas; his two sons, Chance (Joel) Jobe of Rowlett, Texas and Clayton (Stephanie) Jobe of Westfield, Indiana; his Aunt, Mary Evelyn Walker; three grandchildren, Sophie and Tate Rorie, and Levi Jobe; four nieces, Phyllis Blanton, Cindy Faulkner, Suzie Madrid and Linda Watson, along with other extended family members and many friends.
Buddy served his country in the United States Army for four years where he was a Radio and Tel-Type Operator. He worked with his father for several years in Florida where he opened the first franchise store for Whataburger and added six more locations in Florida shortly after that.
When he moved back to Arkansas, he came to the area that he knew as home and became a cattle farmer. His family was the most important thing in his life, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club. He was the ''Self-Appointed'' Mayor of Romance, Arkansas because he knew everyone and cared about them and was there to help anyone when they needed it. Buddy was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, and he loved to call those hogs especially during football and basketball season.
He was proud of his kids and enjoyed spending time with them on the farm and on trips to different places. He learned from a young age how to work with cattle and take care of the farm from his parents. He loved country music by George Jones along with many other artists from that era. He has scrapbooked for years and later began filling them with pictures of his grandchildren with the many memories of their times together like taking them for ice cream on a routine basis and riding around with them on the farm on his four-wheeler and side by side. He had his special times with a special young lady that called him dad and knew he could depend on her.
Services for Buddy are scheduled for Visitation on August 31, 2025, from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel. The Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Romance Church of Christ with Interment to follow in the Romance Cemetery.
