Red Top Kendrick

Dorothy Jean Kendrick, 75 of Mountain View, Arkansas passed peacefully Monday, August 25, 2025, but rest assured that she made a very loud triumphant entry through the pearly gates of heaven.
Red Top was born on November 9, 1949, to Dr. Love Elliott Ross Jr and Shirley Mae Ross in DeWitt, Arkansas.

She was a textbook ''middle child'', a rebel at heart without borders or a filter. She and her four sisters shared a rare lifelong loving bond. She adored her sisters; Loveda (Henry) Morgan of Arkadelphia, Sandra (Milton) Capps of Heaven, Sheila (Harry) Misho of Lake Chicot and Denise (Gary) Morris of Heaven and Dewitt.

Oh, the reunion that took place on Monday afternoon as she was welcomed home by her loved ones, including her cherished daddy, precious mother, and her larger-than-life sisters Sandy and ''Nesie''. Red Top, by the grace of God is experiencing all the glories of Heaven because she had a Savior who took on her sins and covered her by His Blood.

She had many names, and she answered well to them all; Red, Red Top, Pinky, Big Red, Bumbee, Grannie Red, G-Red, Aunt Red, Momma Red and ''Dan and Red'' because they were always together.
Red married Daniel in 1987. The two of them did everything together. She loved to brag that she could out fish and hunt him, and he let her believe it.

Many will be left trying to fill the vacancy of her vibrant life including her husband, Daniel Edward Kendrick and her two children, her ''Baby Boy'' Rodney (Tarla) Bell of Atkins and ''Lover'' Love (Ronnie) Inman of Hot Springs. Thankfully, she was also called ''Momma Red'' by many others including Dan's children, Cindy Green of the Dominican Republic and Danny Kendrick of Loudon, Tn.

Her Grannie Red title came with a lot of ''extras'' for Jada James of Danville, Hollie (Jonathan) Thompson of Searcy, Nathan Inman of Hot Springs, Lani Inman of Hot Springs, Jeremy Miller of Dallas, TX, Jerica Miller, of Dallas, TX, Daniel Edward Kendrick III of Loudon, TN, Zach (Misty) Warren of Rover and Annie (Justin) Willaims of Ola. Even the grandkid's friends knew when Grannie Red was in town, they thought she was the coolest, so they shorted her name to ''G-Red''.

Unlike the rest of the world, she had ''beautiful great-grandchildren''; Bladen James, Levi James, Jadan James, EllaKate James, Jackson James all of Danville and M'kiah Miller & Killian Miller of Dallas, TX and Macy Thompson, Rhett Thompson, Adalyn Thompson of Searcy, Brooklyn Warren and Monica Warren of Rover, Alaeya Niswonger of Russellville, Gabrial Young and Blazlyn Williams of Ola.

Red dearly loved her family and friends and her memory will be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and outlaws.

When Red retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department as a driver with her Class B CDL and they sold the Machine and Welding Shop in Danville, they moved from their little cabin in the woods at Bluffton to their little cabin close to the White River. Once in Mountain View, Red jumped into the community; she was a very active member of Sylamore Baptist Church. She even took a part in a couple of dinner theater productions for local fundraisers. And since 2017, she loved her ''kids'' as she led the Extension's ''Get Fit'' exercise class for senior citizens at the Stone County Fairgrounds.

If Red Top knew you, then she also had a nickname for you…every once in a while, call yourself that, it was her gift to you.

Red did a lot in 75 years, so much so, she is lucky to have made it this far. Most of these shall never be written down but only spoken among friends around a campfire. There was nothing that she could not do, especially if you told her she could not.

Please join us as we celebrate ''Red Top'' with a Celebration of Life Service Saturday, August 30th, 2025, at 2 pm at the Stone County Fairgrounds. Visitation will begin at 1pm prior to the service and her final resting place will be at Pordue Cemetery in Onia following the service.

Pallbearers: Nathan Inman, Bladen James, Levi James, Jadan James, Josh Reeves, Jimmy Langley
Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Zak Kendrick, Samantha Kendrick, Lisa Kendrick and Raymond Ercanbrack

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sylamore Baptist Church, PO Box 1596, Mountain View, AR 72560.

I am so sorry for the loss of your unique and special mom! I think if you ever met Red, you never forgot her. She was always smiling and talking, and made you feel like you had always known her! I know she fiercely loved her kids and family, and life itself. She still has a life, a glorious one, one for eternity and one day we will meet again! Prayers for strength in the days ahead!🙏❤️🙏

Dear Family: Red worked hard for her Lord and her Church. She messaged me asking if I could play the piano at Sylamore Baptist Church. I answered yes and she introduced me the next Sunday. I have never felt so loved. I thank God and Red for this opportunity to serve Him. I loved her and I pray comfort for her family.

I knew Big Red from her Gillett days. Made me sad to see her bright light went out but then it really didn't. That light is in the hearts of all who loved her. This tribute written for her made me so happy. Such a well lived life. Look forward to seeing her again in heavenly places!

Red, my life will never be the same without you. We met less than a year after Don died and I was in a cocoon of grief. You snatched me right out that and made me get out of that by insisting I go here or there, you weren't taking no for an answer. (Stubborn woman!) And I thank God for that. He brought us together as friends as a way to keep me living life and I am so grateful. I love you dear friend and I already miss you so much. I'll see you again one day and you will be singing in that beautiful voice you said you were going to get in heaven!
