Sarah was just ahead of me in school and Sunday School at Lakeside Methodist Church in Pine Bluff. I always looked up to her. My childhood memories are of a delightful, entertaining person. We lost track after her high school graduation but I know her gifts that I saw in the budding stages enriched many lives.
Deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

My memories of Sarah are of a fun loving funny person at Hendrix College many years ago.
Ms. Kirkley will be missed. She always called me one of her boys. Once, I started teaching in the district, she would randomly send me messages of encouragement. I have and will continue to think very highly of my elementary school principal.
May God Bless each and everyone mourning the loss of such a wonderful woman.
Martha, we are so very sorry for your loss. Sarah was a very special person to me and our salon. She was funny, entertaining and had a big personality. She often referred to herself as Kinky la Foo, or Rita Louise Ringlett while evaluating her perm status. I loved her, and she will be missed! She spoke of you often, and with much love. Sarah will be missed…
Sarah and I became friends when she was hired as principal of Weaver Elementary. I was employed in the West Memphis School District's Administrative Office. I also lived in the Weaver School neighborhood and my four children were all students at Weaver. Sarah was a good principal and was loved by all her students. She was very intellengent, witty, and a prolific writer. I told her often that she should write a book after retirement as she had a talent for writing short stories about everyday occurances that would touch your heart and make you laugh all at the same time. I had the privilege of reading many of those stories. She loved her students and all animals.....adopting many stranded and orphaned cats and dogs. Sarah was a very interesting and unique person and I was proud to call her my friend. May you rest in peace dear friend as your work on earth is done.
Sarah loved her animals. She was such a pleasure to be around and have great conversations. She loved all children and was a great educator!
Sara Will was my cousin, her father, Uncle Guy was my great great uncle. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. I have only fond memories of her. ❤️
This is very heartbreaking :-( I worked with Ms. Kirkley for many many years I was her Cafeteria Manager and we had a good relationship with each other she even would check on me when she retired or we would run up on each other at the store she will truly truy be missed. Rest In Paradise Ms. Kirkley You Were Well Loved By My Kids & I.
Sorry to hear the passing of Miss Kirkley. She was my principal when I attended Weaver Elementary in the Late 70s early 80s. I have seen her out and about on several occasions years after and she remembered me as if it were yesterday. I honestly believe that she remembered every student that walked the hallway during her time at Weaver Elementary. She definitely made an impact on her students. Miss Kirkley's work is done. God has called her home. RIP Miss Kirkley
Ms.Kirkley was my principal from kindergarten thru 6th grade ar Weaver elementary. She had a tough exterior but she was a fun loving lady who loved her students and taught us ti be fine upstanding citizens. She will be missed. Fly high Ms Kirkley.
Ms. Kirkley was my first principal and was always so kind❤️. May God comfort her loved ones.
Ms. Kirkley was my 1st principal I worked for at Weaver when I started teaching 22 years ago. Loved her so much. She was kind to me and helped me a lot. I missed her so much when she retired. She was a great principal.
Sarah came to Weaver Elementary just as I was leaving for East Jr. High School, I think. She might have been there for my 6th grade year, but I'm not certain. What I do know is that she was there while my sister was at Weaver, and while my mom was substitute teaching. I often heard Sarah stories after Mom was there for a day or so. Between Sarah and Jimmy Naylor (from Maddox), they were often at our dinner table, in name only, as the stories flew! Sarah, when I did meet her, was a very happy-go-lucky person that had her own knack for dressing - and I envied her for it! Her bright light has dimmed now, but she will always be one of those that I remember from West Memphis. I will miss knowing that she is on this Earth, but happy knowing that she will not suffer any pain ever again. Rest in Love, Sarah...
Sarah was my principal when I taught at Weaver. I can still hear her saying, ''I'll give you $500 if you come and fix the copier.'' She still owes me money🙂. I'm going to miss her.
Miss Kirkley was my elementary Principal .She was always so nice to me and would look in on me to make sure I was doing alright. Even long after I was no longer a student of hers she was still really nice and would offer words or encouragement and advice of you needed them when ever seeing her in town. God bless you Miss Kirkley and all the kids lives you helped through the years.
Ms Kirkley was principal at Weaver when 2 of my girls attended there. All the children loved her and you could tell she always had their best interest always. We just lived a few houses away from the school in the late '70-early-'80s. RIP

I'm so sorry to learn of Sarah's passing. I taught with her a very short time at Weaver Elementary School where she was a lot of fun and made me feel very comfortable. I used to see her at Kroger shopping in recent years. May God bless her survivors with comfort and peace.
Sarah was a close friend to me and my girls for over 45 years. I just spoke with her a few weeks ago. I had no idea… May God bless her sister, friends and family and many who will feel her loss. I will see you again my friend.
