James Robert Harper, 76, of Conway, Arkansas went peacefully to be with the Lord, August 25, 2025. He was born July 2, 1949 in Shirley, Arkansas to J.D. and Pauline Harper.
James was a draftsman and cabinet maker for 40 years and also served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He was the proud owner and operator of Crown Millwork, Inc. in North Little Rock for over 25 years. In his free time he loved to deer and coon hunt, fish if they were biting, explore the forests and countryside from the comfort of his pickup truck and play bluegrass and country music on the guitar. James and Judy attended Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Conway.
James was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, John P. Harper of Wooster, AR. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Judy K. Harper; sons, Brad (Janet), Ronnie (Rebecca) of Conway and Justin (Amy) of Hot Springs, AR and his daughter, Melissa Thomas (Billy) of Conway; along with nine grandchildren, Ashley (Curtis) Waters, Claudia (Matthew) Vaughn, Kady Belle Harper, Kaylee Thomas, Kyle Harper, Griffin Harper, Jackson Harper, Hudson Harper and Parker Thomas and two great grandchildren, Harper Mae and Jensen Waters. James's memory will also be cherished by his sister, Janell Kersey of Panama City, Florida; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be at Roller-McNutt in Clinton at 1:00 on Friday, August 29, 2025 and will be followed by a graveside service at Bradford Cemetery in Shirley, AR.

Judy, you have faithfully and lovingly traveled with your sweet James as far as one is allowed to go. Now, after a while, you must get back to the business of living. I loved James & Judy since I was a kid .
He was always playing jokes on Janell & myself. Many happy times were spent at Aunt Pauline's house. I must say , the boys were older but were very good to my family .
