of Sherwood, AR
February 21, 1948 - August 17, 2025
Roland Mathis Williamson, Jr. was born in Snow Lake, Arkansas on February 21, 1948, to Roland ''Bill'' and Lorene Whitworth Williamson, Sr. He was the baby of 10 siblings. They lived a humble but happy life working on the farm.
He married Clara McClure in 1970, and they were happily wed for 55 years. They raised their only daughter, Amy, in Elaine, Arkansas. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was with Barnes Farms in Lambrook for over 40 years, working hard to provide everything his family needed. He was on the Elaine Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years, serving as Assistant Chief and Chief. They moved to Sherwood, Arkansas in 2017 to be close to their kids.
The title he was most proud of holding was Grandad. His grandson, Grant, was the light of his life and his little best friend. Grant loved going to the farm where he learned his love to work from his Grandad. The engine blew in Grant's 1994 Ford F-150, and they tackled it together, rebuilding it to its former glory. Grant will cherish these memories for his lifetime.
He was an active member of Twin City Church of Christ in West Helena, then later of Levy Church of Christ in North Little Rock. He enjoyed his Tuesday lunches with the Levy Lunch Bunch.
Roland passed away at age 77 at his home on August 17, 2025, knowing that he was deeply loved. He will be remembered for working in his yard, growing cantaloupes, squash and tomatoes to share, and always loving and providing for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Williamson; daughter, Amy Perry and her husband, Chris; grandson, Grant Perry; sisters, Kathleen Griffith, Vivian Humphrey (Harold) and Fay Barnes; brothers, Ross Williamson and Roger Williamson (Linda); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lorene Williamson; brothers, Robert Williamson, Johnnie Williamson, and Ray Williamson; sister, Christene Short; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Perry, Grant Perry, John Ott, Lee Barnes, Kyle Williamson, and Kenneth Taylor.

Very sorry to hear of Roland's passing. He and Clara lived next door to my momma for several years, He was a great classmate, teammate and friend. RIP Buddy. 🏈🏀⚾
Uncle Roland was the best example of a Christian man that I have ever known. He always saw the good in everybody he meet. I know without a shadow of doubt that our Lord God is rejoicing for the addition to his kingdom. Our prayers go out to the family.
