Juanita Jackson Oxner, 90, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 in Hot Springs Village. Born in Helena, Arkansas on June 22, 1935, Juanita grew up in the Helena/West Helena area, excelling as a basketball player and head cheerleader at Central High School. She married Charles Oxner on June 5, 1954, enjoying 69 years of marriage prior to his passing away in 2023.
Juanita loved music and dancing, her favorite singers being Elvis Presley, whom she had the opportunity to meet, and Conway Twitty, with whom she went to high school and sang together to win first prize in a talent contest. Juanita often pointed out that she and Conway Twitty were pictured side-by-side in their High School Yearbook.
Juanita is survived by her four children, Sherry Johnson (Siegfried) of Hot Springs Village, Charles Oxner, Jr. (Tracy) of Hot Springs Village, Stanley Oxner of El Dorado, and Paula Gibson (Terry) of North Little Rock. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Esther and Curdy Perkins Jackson, and her three siblings; Betty Cullum, Barbara Lederman, and C. P. Jackson, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at the Roller-Chenal chapel on Saturday, August 16, at 4:00 p.m., with family visitation preceding the service, at 3:00 p.m.
