Mary Sue Cox, age 81, of Tyronza, Arkansas passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025. She was born on December 23, 1943 in Morganton, Arkansas to the late Dewey C. Bates and Amanda Grissom Bates.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her eleven brothers and sisters, all of whom she loved dearly.
On May 22, 1966, Mary Sue married the love of her life, Carl Cox. Together, they shared 59 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter and faith. She is survived by her husband, Carl; her daughter, Carla Wilson (Thor) of Maryville, Tennessee; her son, Danny Cox of Hardyville, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Reagan Wilson, Bailey Cox and Larissa Cox and two great-grandchildren who brought joy to her later years.
Mary Sue was a longtime member of the Marked Tree Church of God, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She worked for many years in the sewing industry, where she applied both skill and care to her craft.
In her free time, Mary Sue found joy in quilting, playing cards, singing and tending to her yard. Above all, she cherished the moments spent with her beloved family, those memories were the true treasures of her life.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, strong faith and the deep love she gave to all who knew her.
