I met Lu in Russellville in the early 70's. What a true gentleman with always a warm welcome and smile. I played some golf with Lu at Russellville Country Club and the one thing about Lu's game that I remember is that he always played the Russellville 4-ball and he and his partner would most of the time win it. He was a great golfer as well as such a great man. God bless the Hardin family.

I went to school with Mr. Hardin. He was a very nice gentleman. His mother also taught me Home Economics in Searcy. Praying for peace and comfort for the family.

Mary, I am so sad to hear of Lu's passing. I'll always remember my time at Bullock, Hardin and McCormick; having our kids around the same time; helping Lu with classes and his campaign. Please know I'll keep you in my prayers. Sheri

Hardin Family,

I am so sorry for your loss Mr. Hardin was a great man. When I was a State Operator back in 1990 to 1992 Senator Hardin & Senator Bookout came down to meet me and they were so nice. They thanked me for the great job I was doing and Senator Hardin even gave me candy. Those 2 senators cared about State Employees and gave me lasting memories. Mr. Hardin will be missed by so many people because he cared. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I still remember how happy you were in college when you told me about you and Lu. What a great man! No wonder your love endured.

Lu was one of a kind. I met him at Arkansas Tech in 1970. We took a lot of the same classes especially in Political Science. Then we ended up in Fayetteville at the Law School. He came back to Russellville and was a member at the Methodist Church. Then, he taught Sunday School for young adults and became a Lay Speaker and served as Pastor at the London Methodist Church. It didn't take him long as a lawyer to start teaching Business Law at Arkansas Tech. Then he ran as for State Senate from Russellville and was elected. He was always welcoming and extremely nice to me. After I moved from Russellville, I lost touch with him. May he Rest in Peace.
