Marvin Dewayne WrightI am a Veteran.

of Mountain View, AR

July 16, 1950 - August 3, 2025

Marvin Dewayne Wright, 75, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away on August 3, 2025. He was born on July 16, 1950, in Piggott, Arkansas, to the late Ralph and Mildred (Curless) Wright.

Marvin was a man of honor who devoted his life to serving both God and country. A man of strong Baptist faith, he proudly served in the United States Army. Marvin was deeply devoted to his family and married the love of his life, Glenda Rhody, on November 19, 1972, in Campbell, Missouri. Together, they raised three children, instilling in them the values of respect and compassion for others.

Marvin was passionate about his work as a mechanic. Even when he couldn't do the work himself, he loved guiding others on how to do it right. A creative soul, he often designed and built tools he needed and enjoyed drafting home designs.

Known for his servant's heart, Marvin was caring, compassionate, and always ready to lend a hand; whether to someone broken down on the side of the road or a neighbor in need. He had a quick wit and loved making people laugh; he truly never met a stranger.

Marvin had a sweet tooth, especially for pies of any kind. He stood firm in his convictions and wasn't afraid to speak up for what he believed in, whether it was about his faith or politics. He loved both gospel and classic country music and found great joy singing bass with his wife and a group of fellow musicians.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Glenda (Rhody) Wright; two sons, Richard (Patty) Wright of Hardy, Arkansas, Christopher Wright of Mountain View, Arkansas; daughter, Melody (Ben Francis) Schaffter of Hardy, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Amanda Gore, Richard Wright II, Connor Schaffter, Caitlin Schaffter, Sarah Candler, Karah Ring, Kailey Wright, Tabitha Johnson; sisters, Ollie Foster of Piggott, Arkansas, Alma (Tom) Sims of Piggott, Arkansas; twin brother, Marlin (Sandy) Wright of Piggott, Arkansas; and a multitude of family and friends.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mildred Wright; brothers, Donald Wright, Bob Wright, Eldon Wright, Thomas Wright; sister, Jean Lee and twin infant sisters.

Graveside Service will be held for Marvin Wright on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Brother Ronnie Stevens will be officiating.

Pallbearers are Richard Wright, Pattie Wright, Melody Schaffter, Ben Francis, Daniel Clatfelter, Houston Faulk, John Smith, and Braden Candler.

Roller Crouch of Mountain View will be in charge of these arrangements.
