Rickey Gene DeFries, 77, of Batesville passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025.
He was born June 26, 1948 in Batesville to Fax Jeffrey and Altha Margret (Stice) DeFries.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Elizabeth (Jeffery) DeFries; two sons, Robert Burns (Betty) of Vienna, Virginia, Trey DeFries (Wendy) of Rogers, Arkansas, and three grandchildren, Shelby Burns, Alex Burns, and Nathan DeFries.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald Fax DeFries.
Pallbearers are Robert Burns, Trey DeFries, Nathan DeFries, Gary Jeffery, Dan Williams, and Tim Shuttleworth.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville with Chris Garret officiating. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Rickey was a good friend from grade school on up. He will be greatly missed! Condolences to Carolyn and family!

Carolyn , so sorry to hear of Rick's passing . He was a good man , always funny and could make everyone around laugh. I will never forget playing cards for hours and hours on the weekend with you and Rick . You are in my thoughts and prayers .

We are so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. He was such a nice guy and one of the first boys I met from west side. We all went to the movies on Friday night and he was full of jokes and wonderful manners (which were rare at that time).
