I first met Cory over two decades ago. We started off as friends through an online chat service and then started video chatting. He was such a sweet guy and he helped me through a lot at the time.

I would eventually hop on a 14 hour bus ride down to where he was stationed at the time just to meet him. I still remember that tiny house of his with the god awful green fridge! I also remember drinking way too much crown and coke while he was away at work one day, deciding I wanted to make him my famous fried potatoes, but not finding a potato peeler anywhere. I decided that I could easily walk 2 miles in the middle of summer in the south to a Walmart to buy one. It turned out, I definitely could make it there, but not back! I did end up getting back via taxi and Cory was waiting for me, worried. I told him about my mission and he promptly showed me a potato peeler he already had in his dishwasher. We would laugh about that moment for years to come.

Although we grew apart as the years moved on, as often happens as we become adults, he would still check in with me from time to time just to see how I was doing.

He will be sorely missed!

David and I worked together at Blue Cross. He was very knowledgeable and took great care to make sure his customers got top notch service.

He was also a friend who I admired for his strength and desire to be better every day. I can speak for the entire 125 member team when I say he will be missed by all.

RIP David see you on the other side.

What a guy! Soft spoken, smart, and a dry, witty humor about him. Many times he would make a comment that would fly over without bein noticed only to see that smirk of his creep in. But there was never a time I needed help that he wasn't there to do so. He was one of the good guys for sure. I just hope that the friends who knew him, the photos you have, and the memories you share offer a sense of peace in the chaos. My condolences to all he touched.

I'm sorry, we never were able to make a camping trip together. I got the camper all ready to go! I was lucky to get to know a tiny bit of Hodge outside of work, and was excited to try some pup camping together. I will NOT miss you honking at me on the mower and at the mailbox! You are still welcome to visit. <3
