Vera Anne Norden

of Little Rock, AR

June 5, 1930 - July 26, 2025

Vera Anne Norden, 95, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, peacefully transitioned on Saturday, July 26, 2025. She was born in June of 1930 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to George and Isabelle.

Vera met the ''love of her life and in death'' Richard ''Dick'' Norden in 1949 after attending a dance at the Masonic Lodge on Ouellette Avenue in Windsor. She waited for Richard while he fought as a Marine in the Korean War and in 1953 they were married. This would begin a 52-year marriage that resulted in three children, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and countless friends along the way.

Vera is survived by her children: son, Steve of Little Rock, son, Kurt (K.C.) of San Diego; daughter, Laurie Harjo (Billy) of Tennessee; granddaughters, Kristen Camp (Michael) of Ft. Worth and Karrieanne Warren (Patrick) of Hilo; great-grandchildren, Cash Repola of Ft. Worth, Noe Camp of Ft. Worth and Wayne Richard Warren of Hilo and many that loved Vera for the amazing woman and friend that she was.

The family will have a small graveside service later when they will inter both Vera and her beloved Richard together, as they wished.

In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

I am really sorry for your loss Kurt. I only knew your mother through the videos and pictures you shared with me, but I know how special she was to you and you to her. Just always remember, grief is the heart's way of remembering the love that never really leaves. Love ya Murty

My deepest sympathies to the Norden family. Kurt often shares memories of his family and I know his parents helped shape him into the wonderful man he is today! Music and culture come to mind when he speaks of Vera and the special moments they would have dancing and singing together. I know moments like these will always live on as joy and be a tribute to Vera!

K.C. (Kurt), my earliest memory of your mom is of her generosity. She bought me clothes during the 7th grade when my own parents didn't do so. I am so grateful for that act of kindness. I am so sorry for your loss but happy that she lived such a long life. You and everyone who loved your mom are in my thoughts and prayers.

It was our great pleasure to meet Vera on several occasions when she was visiting Kurt in San Diego. She was the light in the room for us and she was immediately comfortable with all of Kurt's chosen San Diego family. Gracious and charismatic - she made us feel instantly included and welcomed. We are glad she had her family around her with love for her transition. With love and sympathy.

My Dear wonderful and beautiful Vera, we will miss you.
I met Vera at a cruise ship stop in Ensenada, Mexico. Her son Kurt and I were waiting for her and her friends while we were in Ensenada. We had iceless margaritas. Vera was afraid of the ice . Onky the first round. After that we didn't care about the ice and we had the best time getting to know each other and more margaritas with ice. She visited us in San Diego and also I went with Kurt to Arkansas for one of her birthdays. Through her son Kurt I learned to love her as Kurt's mom and also I felt her motherly love. She touched my heart and felt her love and kindness.
Vera, whenever you are, you will always ne loved and remembered.

Kurt always spoke to our family about Vera and their love of music, musical theater and singing. I loved hearing stories of how happy she made Kurt when he visited and they had a chance to sing together. Kurt and our daughter, Lylah, love to sing together and can carry on this memory. I send sincere condolences and blessings for anyone who knew her and congratulations to Vera on her long and happy life!
