Jack Rains, age 87 of Leslie, Arkansas crossed over on July 14th, 2025 at his home with his loving daughter by his side. He was born in a one room log cabin on Nubbin Hill in Searcy County, Arkansas on January 24th, 1938 to Fletcher Rains and Emmie Treat Rains.
Jack was a believer in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He went through Basic Training with the United States Air Force and was medically discharged before his service could begin. He worked as a diesel mechanic and a machinist for the Rock Island Line Railroad. He was also a very talented gunsmith. Jack's strong faith and presence will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Stephen Rains (Maryanne) of Springfield, AR, Samuel Rains of Leslie and Shirlynn ''Jeanie'' Rains of Leslie; grandchildren, David Rains (Wanda) of Canaan and Aiden Rexington (Kai) of Ava, MO; brother, Carl Rains of Leslie; sister, Betty Jean Horton of Marshall; and several extended family and friends who will also mourn his passing.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Emmie Rains; his wife of 55 years, Shirley Lorraine Hubbard Rains who passed away in 2014; and an infant sister.
No services are planned at this time. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I'm very sorry to hear this. Jack is one of my oldest friends. Jack is a little older than me but we used to trade comic "funny " books when were kids, he was the big boy and I was the little boy. Jack was always a good man.
