In Loving Memory of Larry Wayne Horne
September 29, 1947 - July 10, 2025
With deep sorrow but unwavering hope in Christ, we announce the passing of Larry
Wayne Horne, a beloved father, husband, brother, and friend who was called home to
be with the Lord on Thursday, July 10th, at the age of 77.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 29, 1947, Larry lived a life marked by faith,
courage, and dedication. A proud veteran of the army, he served our country and
embodied the values of sacrifice, discipline, and duty. After his military service, Larry
continued to serve others with humility and grace, always guided by a steadfast love for
Jesus Christ. He was known for his compassionate heart, hard-work mentality, witty
sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Growing up in Brunswick, Georgia provided a memorable childhood filled with
adventures. He could often be seen fishing with his father, playing ball in the rain with
his brother Jack, riding bicycles everywhere, and cooking in the kitchen with his mother
and sister Judy. From an early age, he loved everything about cars and motorcycles. He
even considered his Harley Davidson motorcycle a special possession and
customizable project.
Throughout his life, he was dedicated to hard work and cherished time spent with his
wife and children. When he wasn't at home working around the house, grilling with his
homemade barbeque sauce or tinkering with his motorcycle, he was Director of Special
Projects for the Tuesday Morning Corporation for 14 years. He retired from that position
in 2012.
After retirement, he was an active participant in his Messick High School Alumni group.
He relished the time spent with his special friends like Billy Joe Adair, Bobby Lantrip,
Gary McNeamer, Don Abel and many others from that group.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of almost 35 years, Linda Hairston Horne, sons
James Brian Horne and Joshua Wayne Horne, daughter Mary Margaret Horne Debow
(Mathew Alan Debow), grandchildren James Brian Horne Jr, Olivia-Shea Bayleigh
Horne, and Ashton Tate Horne, brother Jack Ervin Horne (Kay Horne), and
brother-in-law David Bryan Hairston and nephew Dean Horne, each of whom loved him without measure. He was
preceded in death by his father Jesse James Horne, mother Elma Carson Horne, sister
Judith Annette Horne, father-in-law Thomas Earl Hairston, mother-in-law Mary Margaret
Smith Shoup, and close friend Howard Jackson.
A celebration of Larry Wayne Horne's life and faith will be held on Saturday, July 19th at
2:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas. A visitation will be
hosted at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Following the service, the family will host a
celebration of life potluck at Larry's beloved home in Conway.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rest in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
''He has fought the good fight, he has finished the race, he has kept the faith.'' 2
Timothy 4:7
We rejoice in knowing that Larry is now in the presence of the Lord, watching over us,
where there is no more pain, only peace and glory everlasting.

I'm going to miss you smile. I'm going to miss the "Huh" when the family asked or said something to you. But, you definitely can hear a whisper of a dollar amount. I'm going to miss your banana pudding. I'm going to miss how you always made me feel like part of the family. I'm going to miss your hugs. I'm just going to miss you period. Love you Larry
RIP Larry, knew Larry at Messick, through my brother, he was a good man!
Althgough he was a bit older than I, I remrember Larry well from high school and am not surprised at his many accomplishments. HIs long term friendships with Adair and Lantrip and others speaks to the kind of man he was. I am truly sorry for your loss and hope you find comfort in what must be many wonderful memories of your father, husband, and friend.
Daddy, I could not have asked for a better father in this world. I was blessed beyond measure to have your love and support. All I ever did was strive to make you proud. Say hello to Mimi, Grandpa, Nanny, Aunt Judy, and my lost siblings for me. Until we see each other again someday….Love, Your Baby Girl.
Rest in peace Larry. You're with the good Lord now. No more pain or sorrow. My heart goes out to his family especially to Linda. I know she adored her husband. Keep the faith 🙏
