Estalee P. Reves

of Marshall, AR

March 22, 1930 - June 30, 2025

Estalee Reves, age 95, of Marshall, AR went on to her heavenly reward on Monday, June 30. Estalee was born in Zack, AR on March 22, 1930, to Leander L. Horton and Mary Elizabeth Garrison Horton along with eight siblings: Joyce McKnight, Clois Horton, Lois Harness, Alma Smith, Zelma Bundy, Gladys Eaton, Robert Horton and her twin sister Denvalee Roten.

Estalee and her siblings grew up in the Zack/Marshall communities with a love of music, family and faith instilled in them by their parents. She was self-taught in the art of playing the piano, guitar and mandolin. She was known for creating great meals for her large family many times out of meager beginnings, prescription-strength coffee, contagious laughter and sense of humor, awesome gardening and her ability to make do with whatever she had. She was a positive, fun-loving woman who played high-nine pitch, seriously. Estalee's love of sports included following the Arkansas Razorbacks and Marshall Bobcats programs and attending local sporting events when she could. She was even known to help coach her son's high school football team. After marriage and children, she passed on her love of music, sports and life to all her children but especially important to her, her faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. Estalee was a Christian and shared her salvation experience in her mid-teens at a revival service at the Zack church that was held by Tulsa, Oklahoma Bible College students who were visiting the area. She encouraged all her children to receive salvation and trust in the Lord.

Estalee is the mother of ten children: Deanna Richardson (Glenn), Phyllis Hensley, Debbie Morris (Ralph) (Mitchel Gentry), Karen Coolidge (Michael), Mark Reves (Nancy), Douglas Reves (Paula), Kelly Reves, Tracy Hudson (Jimmie), Jarrett Reves (Bernice) and Melanie Treat. Grandmother of twenty-three; Grant Richardson (Ashley), Jennifer Richardson, Wade Hensley, Jill Hensley, Laura Ragland (Jerry), Jeff Hensley, Steve Gentry, Allan Gentry, Melisa Martinez (Luis), Jason Gentry (Sarah), Kari King (Dennis), Kate Harbison (Brian), Hayley Bright (Joshua), Chelsea Catlett (Brennen), Luke Reves (Hannah), Stephanie Reves, Lindsey Landers (Benjamin), Jonathan Hudson, Maci Hudson, Heather Pierce (Kaleb), Matthew Reves (Abi), Ressie Rivera (Tamas), Christian Treat (Sarah). Great grandmother of forty-four and great, great grandmother of twelve.
Estalee is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and two grandchildren, Wade Hensley and Jill Hensley.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th at 10:00 a.m. at her resting place in Marshall Memorial Gardens.

My earliest memory of Estalee is her playing the piano while her sisters and father sang at church. I loved hearing them sing ''I'll Fly Away''…their harmony was the best…I can almost see them now standing by the piano, as Estalee played ''by ear.'' And Easter was the best, because they sang more songs on that day. I loved going to her home when I was young…Estalee was always so gracious to visitors. And Deanna, Phyllis, and Debbie…I know you best…we have been friends for as long as I can remember…and I love you dearly. And Karen, Jarrett, Melanie, Mark, Douglas, Tracy, and Kelly…what a wonderful family you are blessed with.

Estalee is the last of my mom's childhood friends. She shares so many memories of walking with the ''Horton girls'' late at night to spend the night with them after church…all the laughter, the sharing of secrets, crossing the creek in the dark, the pallets on the floor, Aunt Mary's breakfasts. And how they would all meet up in front of Roy Horton's house to walk to Zack school together. She loved Estalee and her sisters like they were family.

I am so sorry for the grief all of you are feeling, but I know you will carry your mom in your heart wherever you are…she loved her children mightily, as all of you love her. We pray that you will find comfort and peace from each other and from knowing that your precious mother is in the arms of Jesus now.
