Arrangements for Mr. Orlie "OJ" James Douglas Harrington, 83, of Dolph, Arkansas are at Roller Funeral Home. Mr. Harrington passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
OJ was born December 19, 1941 in Leslie, Arkansas to the late James and Eula (Biggers) Harrington. He retired after 37 years of dedicated service at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company.
OJ held strong beliefs in the Church of Christ. In his leisure time, he found joy in fishing, coon hunting and playing music. He was highly skilled on the lead guitar and mandolin, bringing joy to many through his music.
Survived by his loving wife, Pauline, OJ is also survived by his three sons, James, Rodney (Stacey) and Ed (Kendra) and his daughter, Loretta (Mitch). He leaves behind twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two sisters, Obeta Owens and Era Kathlean Lindsey (Bob) and numerous nieces and nephews.
OJ was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol, of 19 years; four brothers and six sisters.
I hated to hear that Orlie had passed away. I always had fond memories of Orlie and Raydon, along with my brother Rick and Harley Anderson racing our bicycles on the gravel road there by the Shady Grove store, where they lived, late at night without a worry of any cars coming along, just having a ball. Then there were the times we just sat and listened to them play music and on different instruments until it was time for all of us to get to our own homes. Those were the days I miss those days and the people we shared our time with, just good clean fun. However, I find comfort in knowing that once again, we will meet together for eternity, singing and playing instruments and having the time of our lives once again. I forgot to mention Obta, I am so sorry that you are losing your brothers and sisters but they are waiting at the feet of Jesus. You are the last of the Harrington family that I knew. What a great family you grew up with!! God Bless .
Continued Prayers for the Family
I am so sorry and saddened by the great loss of my wonderful Uncle. Prayers go out to each and every one of his children (my cousins), and his wife and siblings (my Aunts). Love and prayers from Jim & Josie Harrington
Sure will miss you singing fly buddy until we meet again
SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, PRAYERS FOR ALL.
I an so sorry for the loss of Orlie. He was loved by so many, especially Pauline and his children. Raydon thought so much of his big brother and always looked forward to him and the family coming to Arkansas every summer. We all loaded up and headed for the Buffalo River. We all had such a good time. I now it is hard giving him up, but you have so many memories of him. Love you all and I am praying that there's comfort in knowing that I care.
