Annie Virginia Johnson

of Little Rock, AR

January 15, 1928 - June 14, 2025

Annie V. Johnson, age 97, of West Memphis, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025.

Born on January 15, 1928, on a farm outside of McCrory, AR, Annie was the beloved daughter of the late Nathaniel and Ida Holder. She graduated from McCrory High School in 1946 and later devoted her life to her family, her faith, and her community.

Annie was a faithful member of West Memphis Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she found joy, purpose, and fellowship. Her love for life, the Lord, and her family was evident in all she did.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Thomas Johnson, as well as her siblings William L. Holder, Donald N. Holder, and Mary Elizabeth Holder.

She is survived by her brother Jerry Holder (Danette) of Little Rock, Arkansas, sister-in-law Jane Holder of Fort Smith, AR, brother-in-law Van Johnson (Becky) of Eupora, MS, along with many extended family members, friends, and members of her church community who will deeply miss her warmth, wisdom, and steadfast spirit.

Annie's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to West Memphis Baptist Church, or a charity of the donor's choice.

We have missed her in church services since she moved. I did not know her personally, but she was always a faithful attender in our church and one that made our church feel complete. Don was in her husband's S.S. class. The people that have been in our services so many years are certainly missed once they are not present. She was blessed with a long life and I pray her family sees her race as one she completed.
