Doris Lundquist Yingling

of Conway, AR

January 31, 1935 - June 12, 2025

Doris Lundquist Yingling, of Conway, longed for the day she would meet Jesus at the gates of heaven and receive her new, perfect, and pain-free body. On June 12, 2025, at the age of 90, that day arrived. Doris passed away peacefully at Conway Regional Medical Center after a courageous and exemplary 3.5-year battle with breast and bone cancer.

Doris was dearly loved everywhere she went. She shared a special bond with the staff and fellow patients at the CARTI Cancer Center in Conway, who marveled at her remarkable ability to lift others' spirit even on her hardest days in the chemotherapy infusion room. A prolific crafter, she created countless crochet blankets and other handmade items, which she generously gifted to friends, family, and fellow cancer patients.

She was preceded in death by her father, Per Roland Lundquist; her birth mother, Elizabeth Carlson Lundquist; her stepmother, Viola Rosenbach Lundquist; her stepbrothers, Don and Richard Rosenbach; and her stepsister, Lois Rosenbach Andresson.

She is survived by her sister, Karen Lundquist Defenbaugh of Phenix City, AL; sister-in-law, Zella Rosenbach of Brigham City, UT; her son, Ross Yingling (Carol) of Conway; and her daughter, Beth Yingling of Snellville, GA. She also leaves behind her 4 grandchildren: Jason Yingling (Megan), Ashley Yingling, Paige Yingling, and Tristan Butler; and 5 great-grandchildren: Aiden Yingling, Harper Yingling, Luka Yingling, Kane Burton, and Raena Yingling.

Doris was born on January 31, 1935, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. At the age of two, after the passing of her birth mother, she traveled with her father to his homeland of Sollentuna, Sweden, where they lived for four years.

She graduated from Harrison High School in 1953 and from the Baptist Nursing Program in Little Rock in 1956. As a Registered Nurse, she dedicated decades of her life to caring for others in hospitals, clinics, and with the Red Cross both on Blood Mobiles and in the Apheresis Unit throughout central Arkansas. She was also the owner of Yingling Picture Framing in Benton.

Doris was a faithful and much-loved member of Brumley Baptist Church in Conway, where she joyfully served for many years as the church's keyboard player. Her musical talents were a central part of her worship and devotion to Jesus Christ.

Doris deeply cherished her family and supported them in all they did. Known by many names - Doris, Inga, Mom, and Momma - but her favorite name was "Granny." Her happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, solving puzzles, cooking green eggs, and baking Swedish coffee bread.

A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service and Memorial will be held on Tuesday, July 1st at 7:15 p.m., at Brumley Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CARTI Cancer Center Foundation at https://www.carti.com/foundation/ways-to-give/.

To Doris's family whom she cherished so much. We often sat reminiscing about her life. She had no regrets. I was her caregiver for a while with Visiting Angels, sometimes I felt she was caring for me. We are out and thrift shopped, oh how we loved our time together. My prayers are with the family. May God bless and keep you. Leadry Harris Simpson

Ross, Beth & family, Mrs. Doris was such a delightful lady, always pleasant no matter the pain she might be in. She always had a smile for anyone she met, was a very talented musician, up for an outing to lunch or social gatherings. We truly counted her as a dear friend and she will be missed by many! May God wrap His hedge of protection around all of you and walk with you in the coming times, blessings to each of you.

Aunt Doris was one of a kind! She taught me how to play piano and a couple of board games as a child. I admire how she held onto her sweet, loving, charismatic nature, even in the face of hardship. If anyone deserves their new pain-free body and mind, it's her! She will be missed, but I'm glad she got to enjoy such a long and beautiful life.

Doris was step sister to my grandmother, Lois Rosenbach Andreson (Harrison, AR). My father, Paul, shares that Doris was a favorite aunt to him.

As a cancer survivor myself and one who suffers from chronic illness I rejoice to know that my great aunt's faith was made sight. What a joy to behold the Lord Jesus and deal with pain no more.

May the God of all comfort, comfort all of you.

In Christ,
~ Distant family in Chicagoland.

My heart is with your precious family! Doris was just the best "sister" I have and I will miss her every day. She accepted me, made me laugh all the time and always shared her beautiful soul in times of happiness and sadness. God has another angel with him today. I send my love, my prayers and hugs to all the family. Zella Rosenbach

Doris was a sweet soul, and a mentor to me. We spent many years living by each other. I grew up loving and looking up to her and her family. I know I'll see her in heaven one day. Thank you, Doris, for the friendship, love, and time we spent talking and for sharing you life early on with me.

Doris was my neighbor and dearest treasured friend. She became granny to a 4 week old puppy I brought home, she made her items and brought her things from antiquity w Trenton. She loved that she had a chihuahua puppy 🐶 without the responsibility. When Ross and Harper visited she'd come get her to visit to. I told her she was so loved by so many and even in passing it was hard not to adore this really strong woman. I am so going to miss our visits and cooking for her. Tinker Blue Bell is going to miss her visits as well she loved her granny.
Praying 🙏 for the family

Miss Doris was such a precious, loving and talented lady. Even when she didn't feel like it, she would play the keyboard at Brumley Baptist Church for us.
She will be truly missed, and we can't wait to see her again some day.
