Mr. Donald Lewis Thompson, 83, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Mountain Home. He was born on July 21, 1941, in Hampton, Iowa, to Wilbur Benjamin and Ruth (Schloemer) Thompson. He married Judith (Stroberg) Thompson on June 8, 1960. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bowling, golfing, and taking great pride in maintaining his lawn. He especially loved spending time with his family, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren.
Originally from Sycamore, Illinois, he began working for Anaconda Wire and Cable in 1960. He retired in 1982. After retirement, he worked for American Bare Conductor, Acton Mobile (constructing and delivering construction trailers), and finally Tyrrell Well Drilling before moving with his wife to Mountain Home in 2001.
Donald is survived by his wife Judy Thompson; daughter: Lisa Garriott; two granddaughters: Andrea Rodriguez (Destiny Baldwin) and Jennifer Jacobson (Josh); five great-grandchildren: Madelin Burnham, Nicholas Burnham, Zakery Niland, Jordan Wilson, and Ali Rodriguez; brother: Mark Thompson, sister-in-law: Virgina Kennett and sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Donna and Jim Golden, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Darin Thompson; seven siblings: Dixie Genolous, Robert Thompson, Gary Thompson, Carolyn Nepean, Ronald Thompson, and Vonnie Thompson-Knier, and brother-in-law: Richard Kennett.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Illinois.
