September 12, 1932 - June 4, 2025

Albert Denver Reed, 92, of Marion, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home on June 4, 2025.

Born on September 12, 1932 in Brinkley, Arkansas, Denver lived a long and devoted life rooted in service, family and faith. He graduated from West Memphis High School in 1952 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956, including active duty during the Korean War.

After returning home, Denver married the love of his life, Elizabeth Anne Reed, on November 17, 1956. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership and together they raised one daughter, Lesa Reed Palmer of West Memphis.

Denver dedicated his professional life to helping others and improving his community. He worked as an engineering technician for the Soil Conservation Service in Harrisburg and Forrest City, Arkansas before retiring and continuing his service with the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office as a deputy process server. His commitment to public service extended further as a founding member of the Crittenden County Search and Rescue, where his care for the community he loved was evident in all he did.

A man of faith, Denver was a longtime member of the Avondale Missionary Baptist Church, where he found strength and purpose in his relationship with God and his church family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; his beloved wife, Anne and one great-grandson. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lesa Palmer; his grandchildren, Justin Palmer and Amanda Todd (Stephen); six great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas. A private family burial will follow.

Albert Denver Reed will be remembered for his integrity, kindness, steadfast service and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

Denver was such a sweet soul. He loved his law enforcement family with all his heart. You could always count on him to be involved from directing traffic to spotting marijuana plants from the helicopter. He loved his job and his job loved him. RIP, my dear friend.

Denver was a legend in our community.
When you said Denver here, most knew who we were speaking about.
There was only One Denver.
Never again another like him.
He left us with so many fond memories.
He loved our children like his own.
Kind, great mentor and leader.
When you wanted something done he was the one to call.
Thank you Denver for the service and dedication you gave to our community.
You helped make the Hill Billy Howe down to be a fun time and show. The smile and wink you always gave made us all know everything was ok. You will be greatly missed.
Our heart is with your family and friends.
