Mary Lois Hughes, 87, of Scranton, Arkansas passed away, June 5, 2025 in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Mary was born, October 7, 1937 in Scranton, Arkansas to her parents, Howell Berry Davis and Alice Ophelia (Harrison) Davis. She worked briefly at the Pants factory but left that to assist her husband, Billy Hughes, working on the farm and becoming a homemaker. Together they operated a dairy farm for over thirty years, then a poultry farm and then a beef cattle farm. She and Billy were a team, you didn't see one without the other, she was his right-hand man. Each year she and Billy would raise a large vegetable garden and they would travel around the area to the local churches, attending tent revivals and fellowshipping with other church members. Mary was a lifelong member of the Scranton Holiness Church.
Mary is preceded in death by her previously mentioned parents; a brother, Jerry Davis; two grandchildren, Michele Grant and Rebecca Burnett; a great-grandchild, Hope Narcisse; son-in-law, Bruce Judkins and daughter-in-law, Martha Hughes.
She is survived by her husband of seventy-two years, Billy Hughes of Scranton; a son, Sammy Hughes and wife, Hazel of Pocola, Oklahoma; two daughters, Karen Deon Selph and husband, O'Neil of Binger, Oklahoma and Debra Judkins of Scranton, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Shane Hughes, Dustin Hughes, Tabitha Narcisse and Julie Selph; seventeen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; grandson-in-law, Marcus Burnett and several other family members and friends.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Roller Funeral Home in Paris, Arkansas.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Scranton First Baptist Church in Scranton, Arkansas with burial following the funeral service at McKendree cemetery near Subiaco.
Funeral Service and arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Josh Narcisse, Nick Narcisse, Stetson Hughes, Leron Hughes, Larson Hughes, Levi Grant, Luke Burnett and Blaise Burnett.

Cannot express how sorry I am about Mary's Passing. There will never be another Sweet person as Mary has always been. She was so much like Uncle Howell, Quiet and never said a lot but was a very SPECIAL PERSON.
She will always be remembered. Loved her very much even though I didnt have the opportunity to visit much. Love & Prayers for all. Venita
