of Clinton, AR
October 5, 1955 - June 2, 2025
Sheila Kaye Byes of Clinton, Arkansas entered the gates of heaven on June 2nd, 2025 peacefully, in the comfort of her own home. She was born October 5th, 1955 to the late Mary ''Billie'' McCall and Joe McCall in Texarkana, Arkansas.
Sheila cherished every moment spent with her family, creating memories that will live on for generations. Among her favorite pastimes were dancing in the living room to the timeless music of Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline, hand in hand with her beloved soul mate, the late Harold Sheppard. Their love was the heartbeat of her life.
A woman of strength and determination, Sheila devoted her life to the land she loved. Her tireless work and unwavering dedication turned that land into a lasting legacy " a gift for her children and all who come after. Her proudest achievement was the land and swimming hole on Pee Dee Creek, a place she held dear her entire life. It is a sanctuary of joy, reflection and family tradition.
Sheila's legacy is one of love, resilience and deep roots. Her spirit lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the ripples in the swimming hole and the music that still fills her home.
She was preceded in death by her life long soul mate, Harold Sheppard, her parents and beloved nieces, Katrina and Karmin Jones.
Sheila is survived by her children, Carlene, Christina, Paul Jr and Mary; her grandchildren, Corey, Lil Randy, Seth, Mason, Caleb, Vallorie, Kaden and Kelsie; her sister, Jolene; her niece, Kristin as well as 9 great grandkids, nieces and nephews.

Shelia became my honorary grandma when I was like 8 years old, maybe even younger. She created a safe haven for my siblings and me down there in Arkansas and every summer we spent with her and Grandpa Harold. She loved us like we were her own, taught us to love the land, how to enjoy the hard times, and gave us just a place we could call home. I learned so much from her and miss every moment that passed. No matter how time passed, you still loved us dearly and we you. Rest in peace Grandma. Until I see you again, ''see you later.''
A smile that brightened the room. From first meeting her at the meat department at one grocer, then later working with her at Walmart, she always brightened any da. She was a good friend and a pleasure to be around. She will be missed.
