Marcus Scott Fisher

of Batesville, AR

March 26, 1960 - June 2, 2025

Marcus Scott Fisher, 65, of Batesville, Arkansas passed away on June 2, 2025 surrounded by family. Born on March 26, 1960 in Newport, Arkansas to Marcus Butler Fisher and Beatrice Fletcher Fisher. Marcus - known lovingly by many as Scotty - was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather and a man deeply rooted in his family, work, and faith.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Debara McGee Fisher; his mother; his sister, Belinda Olinger; his children, Jeremy Fisher (Rebekah), Heath Fisher and Cody Patterson (Rachel); grandchildren, Lyric Worsham, Ava Fisher, Cameron Fisher, Hadley Patterson and Hana Rivas; great-grandson, Greyson Rivas and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Gail Fisher Hagar.

Scotty was employed by Arkansas Steel Associates for 38 years, serving as a melter supervisor with dedication and pride. A 1978 graduate of Newport High School, he remained a loyal supporter of the Newport Greyhound football team and was an avid fan of Razorback football and baseball, as well as the Atlanta Braves.

One of his greatest passions was following the career of racing legend Mark Martin. From the time Mark was 15 years old, Scotty was a devoted fan, collecting every die-cast car made - all autographed and even some custom-designed. His collection reflected not just his admiration for the sport, but the pride and joy he took in preserving something meaningful.

Scotty was a longtime member of Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where his faith remained a cornerstone of his life. Above all, his grandchildren were his pride and joy - he never missed a chance to support them, brag on them or simply spend time with them.

Pallbearers are David Gay, David Cartwright, Ray Sharp, Marc Hagar, Brent Hite and Mitchell Fisher. Honorary pallbearer is Eddie Tims.

Graveside services will be held at Blue Springs Cemetery in Newark, Arkansas on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 10:00am with Bro. Tim Landers officiating. The family extends heartfelt thanks to White River Health for their compassionate and excellent care.

Scotty's legacy of love, loyalty and quiet strength will live on in all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Acts 1:8 Missions, c/o Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 629 Allen Chapel, Batesville, AR, 72501.

So heartbreaking to lose a spouse and a father and so young. However, knowing Scotty is healed, no longer suffering, and with Jesus is very comforting. We will see you again my friend.
