Emma Lou Thompson, 80, of Benton passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025. She was born on March 20, 1945 in Batesville, Arkansas to Joseph Estes and Mabel Ward Estes.
Emma was of the Baptist faith and lived a life grounded in love, family and service. She worked for many years as a dedicated legal secretary and retired from the Jefferson County Circuit Clerk's Office. A familiar presence in her community, Emma found joy in simple pleasuresā"watching Fox16 News, spending time with her family and reading her beloved Bible. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Thompson (Miranda) of Malvern and her daughter, Laura Robertson (Daran) of East End; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Thompson, Kyle Cleghorn, Cole Cleghorn (Jenna), Kattie Harvey (Cody), Kasey Williams, Dallas Robertson (Sidney), Alyssa Robertson and Valerie Tiller (Rob) and her precious great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Joseph and Melody Cleghorn, Austin and Everett Williams, Aiden Schott and Calvin Harvey.
Emma is also survived by her two brothers, Roger Estes (Mary) and Jerry Estes (Sharon); a sister, Bonnie Musick; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of over 30 years, Gene Thompson; her sisters, Dorothy Kuykendall and Betty Pierce and her brothers, Kenneth Paul Estes and Sterling Estes.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 5, 2025 in the Chapel of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, located at 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton, Arkansas 72015. Bro. Brian Moore will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home of Benton.
Emma's legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
