Betty Wallace

of Little Rock, AR

April 19, 1929 - May 29, 2025

Betty Puckett Wallace, 96, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2025. She was born on April 19, 1929, in Russellville, Arkansas, to Mildred and Joe Puckett. Her family later moved to Little Rock.

Betty graduated from Little Rock Senior High and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She won the Miss Little Rock Pageant in 1948. She married her one true love Eugene Gregory Wallace in 1949, and they raised their family in Little Rock.

In 1942, Betty joined First United Methodist Church where she was a lifelong member. She served on the Board of Stewards, was president of the Women's Society, drove for the LIFT program, and was a member of the Faulkner Friendship Class. She also served as a member of the Alter Guild and as a volunteer in the church office.

Betty was a member and past president of the Twentieth Century Club of Little Rock. She also served as a member of the first board at CARTI of Little Rock. Betty also served on the Arthritis Foundation board and as a representative of The Heart Association.
At first glance, you'd recognize Betty by her striking red hair. Beyond that, Betty was known for the unconditional love and kindness she had for her children and family. She was steadfast in her faith, amazingly selfless and sweet in every way, and always had a smile on her face.

Betty was the best version of everyone's mom, who was always welcoming people to either her home or her lake house where so many happy memories were made for over 57 years. She loved her church, dancing with her husband, Gene, singing, gardening, playing bridge, watching the Razorbacks, her Pepperidge Farm thin bread, Tabs (until they were taken off the market), making cookies, and her Tootsie Rolls. But most of all, she loved her kids and grandkids, and they simply adored their Mom and Grandmama. Betty leaves behind a legacy of cherished love of family, compassion, gratefulness, and a little bit of redheaded spunk! She will live in our hearts forever.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, son Scott Wallace, grandson Jake Agar, sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Frank Birch, and brother-in-law, Jug Wallace. She is survived by her children: Jo Ellen Stover (Bill); Sarah Hickman; and Greg Wallace (Stephanie); her grandchildren: Drew Agar; Collins Hickman (Hannah); Miles Hickman (Addison); Hannah Ward (Tyler); Sam Wallace; Natalie Williams (fiancé Jacob Ballard); great-grandchildren: Luke Williams, Hallie Hickman and Harris Hickman; nephews: Bob Birch (Trish), Jim Birch (Kay), Steve Birch, Phillip Wallace (Shellie), Andy Wallace; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Wallace.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm, Thursday, June 5, 2025, at First United Methodist Church, 723 Center Street, Little Rock. Visitation will begin at 12 O'clock Noon until service time. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park under the direction of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home.

Betty was a neighbor and dear friend in the 50's.
We lost contact through the years, but I will always remember her help, advice and friendship.

I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was such a great lady and so kind to everyone. I will always remember the great times we had growing up and all of our get togethers at the lake. Prayers and condolences to your family.
