Bruce Blackall

of Little Rock, AR

July 5, 1934 - May 22, 2025

Bruce Blackall, age 90, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025. He was born on July 5, 1934, in Grand Rapids, MI, but lived more than 50 years in Little Rock.

Bruce was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Jane Blackall, and was a loving father to his son Doug Blackall (Caron) of Portland, OR and daughter Cindy Green (Tony) of Little Rock, AR. He loved his three grandchildren and extended family, Sarah Luter (Anthony), Jacob Green (Toria Flynn), and Chris Blackall (Adelia Kittrell).

Bruce served in the military and spent his entire professional career in the home building industry. He was the Executive Director of the Arkansas Home Builders Association for many years. Outside of work, Bruce loved to travel and was a tireless volunteer for many organizations including the Little Rock Marathon, the West Little Rock Optimist Club and Habitat for Humanity. He and Jane were also faithful members of Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.

Bruce loved people and was a loyal friend, but his love and respect for others was much more demonstrated in action rather than words. He was a hard worker who took care of his family very well and always followed through on obligations. His last years were challenging, but he faced them with determination, humor, and perseverance. His family's grief is enormous, but their gratitude is greater. May he rest in eternal peace.

Bruce was Executive Director of Arkansas Home Builders while I was a young builder and then president of this fine organization. He was unwavering on how this organization was to be treated in the construction industry. He always had our backs, never backed down from a legislative fight and kept all of us in the HBA at the top of our game. There will only be one " BRUCE BLACKALL" and I have very fond memories of this great man. I truely miss this man as I'm sure many others do also. I am a better contractor today because of him and (YES, BRUCE, THE ICE CREAM BAR AT THE SUMMER CONVENTION WAS A BIG HIT WITH THE KIDS.) Rest in Peace my friend. David Edwards

I had the pleasure of getting to know and work with Bruce at Habitat For Humanity as a fellow member of the Over The Hill Gang. We had fun and helped our community. A fine man.
