Sue Koenig, 80, of Subiaco, Arkansas passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 in Fort Smith. She was born on May 26, 1945 in Scranton to her parents, John Morris and Henrietta (Weatherton) Ihle.
Sue was retired from the Subiaco Abbey and Academy where she worked for many years. She was an avid sports fan, especially of the Arkansas Razorbacks and Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading and loved to cook for her family. She was a long time member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Koenig and her son, Patrick Scott Koenig; her sister, Dana Ihle and her brother, John Morris Ihle.
She is survived by one daughter, Amy Wilson and husband Chad of Alma; her daughter in law, Amber Koenig of Paris; two sisters, Helen Kaelin of Fort Smith and Dorothy Ann Marcus of Hobbs, New Mexico and five grandchildren, Hannah Wilson, Landon Wilson, Meleah Ahart, Audrey Koenig and Dalton Koenig.
A rosary service will begin at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco. The family will visit with friends 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after the rosary.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at St. Benedict Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Mark Stengel, O.S.B.. Burial will follow in St. Benedict Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Kaelin, Kevin Kaelin, Greg Kaelin, Joseph Kaelin, Tim Kaelin and Jeff Bowlin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Harrisonb, Josh Koenig, Jared Schluterman, Landon Wilson and Dalton Koenig.
