Norman Ray Rudd, age 90, of Jonesboro, AR, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, Regional One Health Elvis Presley Trauma Center from injuries suffered in a car accident a few days before. He was born on January 10, 1935, near Pennington, AR, to Frank and Ruby (Cagle) Rudd. He moved to Jonesboro in 1963 to marry the love of his life, Imogene (Rhea) Rudd. He retired from General Electric after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ for the last 50 years, where he served as a charter member of the Southwest Church of Christ Food Pantry. Over the past 10 years, he has enjoyed volunteering for the church, as well as spending time working in his garden.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 59 years, Imogene, and a sister, Freda White.
Survivors include a son, Barry (Norma) Rudd, and daughter LaDonna (David) Todd, all of Jonesboro; a sister, Bethel Anschultz of Mont Belvieu, TX; a sister-in-law, Linda Rhea of Jonesboro; and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, beginning at 11am at the Southwest Church of Christ in Jonesboro, with Kent McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Rutherford Cemetery.
A visitation will precede the service beginning at 10am.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Mike Oliver, Donald Combs, Kenny James, Jim Tubbs, Stephen Goad, and Jim White. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Huddle, the men and women of the Southwest Church of Christ Food Pantry, and the Jonesboro G.E. retirees.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Norman's honor to the Rutherford Cemetery Association (864 Plum Hill Dr. Jonesboro, AR 72401) or to the Southwest Church of Christ Food Pantry (1601 James St. Jonesboro, AR 72401).
