of Harrison, AR
June 2, 1948 - May 20, 2025
Arlin Berkley Daniel was born in Marshall, Arkansas on June 2, 1948, the son of Hulen Berkley and Edna Alline (McDaniel) Daniel. Arlin went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Wayne; and a sister, (Gloria) Dianne.
He is survived by wife, Jeanie; their daughter, Tracey Jo'El Daniel; one brother, Joe Daniel, of Texas; nephews, Jerry Norvell (LeighAnn), Chris Norvell, Gary Lloyd Daniel of Harrison, Erik Daniel (Chrissi) of Texas and their families; niece, Teresa Norvell; and sister-in-law, Pansy Daniel and family of Harrison; and a host of other family and friends, especially the Hill and Drewry families of Russellville, Arkansas.
Arlin surrendered his heart to the Lord as a teenager at the Snowball Baptist Church and attended Northvale Baptist Church at the time of his passing.
Arlin attended school at Snowball until his family moved to Bellefonte his junior year. He graduated from Valley Springs High School, the Business Department and the Heavy Equipment Department at Twin Lakes Vocational-Technical School. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Jeanie (Daniel). They had one daughter, Tracey Jo'El (whose name he chose).
He operated heavy equipment throughout Boone, Newton, Marion, and Searcy counties. He was self-employed and built hundreds of ponds, cleared thousands of acres of land, built building pads, roads, reclamation of mining pits and many other jobs requiring heavy equipment and dump trucks. He could repair just about anything Caterpillar! He loved working in the outdoors and was known as a premier equipment operator and only retired when his health would no longer allow him to work. He loved taking care of their farm, the cattle and two horses. He adopted every stray cat or dog that came his way. (Apparently they had a "sucker" GPS built in!)
He and Jeanie spent many hours roaming the back roads and fishing the lakes of Arkansas and Missouri. When asked, he would always tell that she out-fished him every time! He is fishing with his Lord and Savior today (maybe he will learn how to beat her!).
A celebration of Arlin's life was held at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison on June 3, 2025. Friends and family are invited to share stories and memories.
Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the Ozark Humane Society, 5147 Rock Springs Road, Harrison, AR 72601 or to Northvale Baptist Church building fund 310 Adams Street, Harrison, AR 72601 in his memory.

Arlin and I graduated in the same class from Valley Springs High School in 1966 and I will always remember him being a nice guy. We were both born at Marshall Arkansas Hospital during the same year, 1948, him in June and me in July. Both of our families are from Snowball. We moved from there when I was 5 but his family lived there until he was in high school. I don't remember him from Searcy County, but we learned several years ago that we were somewhat related when we saw each other at a mutual relative's visitation in Harrison. I was quite surprised to see him there, and I think my exact words to him were "What are you doing here!! We had a good chat and such fond memories I'll always remember.
Jeanie & Tracey,
We know that you will miss Arlin terribly. It was a joy for us to get to know him when we would visit.
Larry enjoyed visiting, boating and fishing with Arlin. Be strong, and keep the memories of your lives together close to your heart.
Sorry for your loss. Condolences to the family.
Prayers to you and your family during this sorrowful time. Strength, comfort and guidance to you. Love you. ❤️
Oh Tracey, I am so sorry to hear this.
