Glenn (Perkey) Davis

of Pleasant Grove, AR

October 14, 1935 - May 18, 2025

Glenn Dell (Perkey) Davis, age 89, of Pleasant Grove went to her Heavenly Home, departing this life on 5-18-2025. Glenn was born October 14, 1935 to Charlie and Gertie (Lassiter) Perkey.

After graduation, she worked as a waitress in Batesville where she met the love of her life, Jay Davis. They were married on April 14, 1956 and celebrated nearly 42 years together. Glenn retired from the Mountain View School District where she worked for 25 years as a teacher's aide for first and second grade and also drove a school bus for 16 of those years. She helped work and managed the family farm and poultry operation for over 30 years and was named Pullet Grower of the year in 1987. Glenn was saved on June 20, 1999 and was a faithful and dedicated member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Secretary for many years and was also secretary of the Pleasant Grove Cemetery- always working with a willing heart. She was a strong and courageous Godly woman with a relentless love, a fearless and competitive spirit and a sense of humor that never quit. She was a very prompt, task oriented ''early to bed, early to rise'' type person who considered it late, if you didn't arrive thirty minutes early. Her hands were always busy tending to the needs of others and her home, taking great pride in her tidy house and manicured lawn. There wasn't much she wouldn't tackle. She was a great cook often helping with potlucks, neighbors in need and sharing her specialties such as chicken & dumplings, blackberry cobbler and her well-known fried pies. One of her greatest joys of life was watching her kids and grandkids play sports. She could be ready to go on a dime and seldom missed any event. Glenn was their biggest fan and supporter and enjoyed sharing the story of her own half court shot that she made, back in the day.

Survivors include her five children, Reda and Mike Cartwright of Fifty-Six, Annette Blackwell of Clarksville, Darrell and Linda Gilley of Batesville, Randell and Carla Davis of Pleasant Grove, Keith and Donna Davis of Pleasant Grove; sisters, Tommie Garlin and Kay Milligan; grandchildren, Jarred Cartwright, Elisha McCartney, Amy Marrufo, Kristi Lindsey, Jeremy Davis, Kyle Davis, Hannah Sullivan, Bryan Davis and Dakota Davis; she also leaves behind 20 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jay Davis; her parents, Charlie and Gertie Perkey; son-in-law, Gene Blackwell; brothers, JJ, Paul, Von, Verl and Bill Perkey and sisters, Clois Ray and Jo England.

The visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Don Fletcher officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Roller Crouch Funeral Home of Mountain View.

Pallbearers: Jarred Cartwright, Jeremy Davis, Kyle Davis, Bryan Davis, Dakota Davis and Kole Lindsey. Honorary Pallbearers: Eli Davis, Dawson Davis, Jay Davis, Dax Davis, Cooper Sullivan, Rhyatt Davis, Ruger Cartwright, Ripp Cartwright, Sawyer Cartwright, Jace Marrufo, Kutter Lindsey, Bryce McCartney and Baron McCartney.

Roller Crouch of Mountain View is in charge of these arrangements.

To the Davis Family:
My heart is so sad for the loss of Ms Glenn. I'll never forget the day she came by to see me, just awhile after Bob passed away. She had such kind words. She and Bob used to get into some big conversations about their ages and they laughed about it. She always called me by my first name. That was what she remembered it being from working the election. I never saw her without a smile.
She will certainly be missed. She was loved by so many. To know her was to love her. To her children, she loved you without condition.
My prayer is for our Savior to wrap His arms around you and comfort you during this very sad time.

In Christian Love,

Joanie Younger
