Karen R. Horton, age 75, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Born on October 14, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas, Karen is the daughter of Mary Jean Rainwater and Charles Jerry Horton both of Little Rock. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Mr.& Mrs. John W Miller and Mr.& Mrs. J Lester Horton all of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Karen had a distinguished career in banking and retired from Metropolitan National Bank. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling with friends, playing softball (and she was pretty good too!), swimming and competitive diving while in college, a league bowler and not a bad tennis player. She had a true passion for animals and loved her pets fiercely. She rescued many cats and dogs and adopted all of them!! She was a supporter of Rescue Moms, animal shelters and the Rainbow Bridge Foundation.
Karen leaves behind a brother, Gil Rainwater of Benton, Arkansas (Marquina); sisters, Cathy Lowry of Maumelle, Arkansas and Robin Hensley of Bismarck, Arkansas (Don); nephew, Zane Rainwater of Benton, Arkansas; nieces, Shane Ivy, Angela Wright, Jillian Hill and Megan Hensley; great nephews & nieces, Drew, Sydnee, Regan, Miller and their families and a host of truly wonderful friends.
Karens spirit will continue to inspire the lives she touched, and her memory is a blessing to all who loved her. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate her life and know that she is now with our Lord and Savior Jesus.

A service to celebrate Karen's life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 23, 2025 in the Chapel of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home and will have visitation from 11:00 am until 12:00 Noon.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful people for the excellent care provided at Alcoa Pines Rehabilitation Center and Hospice Home Care. We couldn't be more thankful.

Karen and I were friends for 58 years. I was so blessed for that friendship. No matter where we were in our lives we kept in touch. I will miss her. Sending sympathy to the family.
I treasure the years that we worked together at First Commercial Bank. Karen was a wonderful caring person and will be missed.
Karen and I worked together at First Nat Bank . She was great at her job and such a fun lady. She was the Best Ball player and she took it seriously. RIP sweet friend. ✝️❤️
