David ''Dave'' Alvin DeVazier, 83, of Clarksville, Arkansas passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 21, 1941 in Caldwell, Arkansas. Dave graduated from Forrest City High School and immediately enlisted in the United States Army, where he was proudly stationed in Italy and performed intelligence work before the official start of the Vietnam War.
A devoted member of Pineville Baptist Church, Dave also enjoyed serving his community through the Lions Club and American Legion Post 22. Over the years, he owned and operated a variety of businesses in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisianaâ€"from a carpet and paint store to a storm door companyâ€"always bringing hard work and heart into everything he did. Dave enjoyed playing the harmonica, often alongside his wife, Geneva, who accompanied him on the accordion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Howard DeVazier and Mable (Schmitz) DeVazier; his beloved wife of 48 years, Geneva Teltow DeVazier; his brothers, James Howard DeVazier and Bill DeVazier and his sister, Diana Thomason.
Dave is survived by his children, Dave DeVazier, Jr. and wife, Deanna of Batesville, MS; Michael Johnson and wife, Kelly of Dacula, GA; Rick Johnson and wife, Sheri of Raleigh, NC; Melissa Gammill and husband, Ray of Jonesboro, AR; Theresa Walls and husband, Roger of Jonesboro, AR and Dawn DeVazier and partner, Kevin Perkins of Clarksville, AR.
He was the proud grandfather of Megan Johnson Barnes, Madelyn Johnson, Brooke Hollowoa, Tyler Smith, Zach Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Hannah Rowe, Drew Walls, Jacob Walls, Clabe Fletcher, Christopher Fletcher, Emily Spencer, Kyle DeVazier, Cole DeVazier and Kelsey Perry.
He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Preston, Silas, Sawyer, Woods, Ada Claire, Graham, Bear, Paloma, Yuma, Daws, Madison, Ella and Brynn.
Dave is also survived by his sister, Francis Anderson and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, strong work ethic, devotion to family and unwavering faith.
Pallbearers are Cole DeVazier, Kyle DeVazier, Tyler Smith, Christopher Fletcher, Clabe Fletcher and Derek Hollowoa.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Minnow Creek Cemetery.

Uncle Dave will be missed in this place by many, but we (his family) will have a void in our lives that can only be filled with memory's of happy times full of laughter, fun and love. There is no other "Uncle Dave" and he is precious to all of us. We are all better people because he is part of our lives.
