of Helena, AR
February 4, 1952 - May 16, 2025
Andrew Louis ''Andy'' Beith, beloved husband of Melinda Kalb Beith, passed away in Helena on Friday, May 16, 2025, the couple's 27th wedding anniversary. The youngest of nine children, Andy was born in Helena, AR on February 4, 1952 to Robert Porter Beith, Sr. and Quinn Susan Coleman.
A graduate of Elaine High School, Andy attended Rhema Bible College. A diesel mechanic by trade, Andy was gifted with a spatial/technical intelligence. He could hear a problematic engine and immediately diagnose the likely repairs! Growing up on a farm in Ferguson, AR, Andy was also gifted with a naturalistic intelligence. He would pass a field, identify what crop was growing and know exactly what that crop needed for success. His happiest days were spent driving a big truck for the annual harvest. Andy was enamored with Scotland and his rich ancestry. Andy was a member of the First Assembly of God, North Little Rock.
A humble man who quietly helped all, Andy was an armor bearer. He shied away from the spotlight while ensuring that all was running smoothy behind the scenes. Andy spent countless hours in the technical theatre department at Little Rock Central High School, building sets and procuring essentials. Most importantly, he mentored children, teaching skills that endured long after the curtain closed. For his selfless contributions, Andy was awarded honorary membership in Troupe 6418 of the International Thespian Society, the honor society for dramatic arts.
Andy believed that every soul matters; his kindness was universal. His ultimate joy was found in his grands, great-grands, nieces, nephews and their babies. He was jovial and smiled brightly when the babes were present! His stories of growing up and wisdom imparted to the next generation will continue to resonate.
In addition to his wife, Andy is survived by four children, Drew (Misty) Beith of Benton, MS, Josh (Sara) Beith of Paducah, KY, Kelly Martin of Harker Heights, TX and Adam Quinn Beith of Helena, AR; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; Four sisters, Sandra Beith (Buddy) Quinn of Helena, AR, Kaye Beith Towles of Hot Springs, AR, Doris Beith (Clois) Perkins of North Little Rock, AR and Gloria Jo Beith (Bill) Holloway of Claremore, OK and a plethora of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his lifelong friends and bonus family Johnny, Sandra Kaye and Kaleb Hall.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, RP ''Bobby'' Beith and David ''Peto'' Beith; sisters, Connie Beith Buckingham, Faye Beith Schauffhauser and grandson, Gabriel Quinn Martin.
Services to be held May 31st, 2025 at Hope Church. Visitation will begin at 11am. The Service will follow at 12 noon with a reception at the church to follow.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made Little Rock Central High School Tech Theatre Department.
