Jeanie Lou MacklinI am a Veteran.

of Little Rock, AR

November 6, 1971 - May 15, 2025

Jeanie Lou Macklin, 53, of Little Rock, Arkansas died Thursday, May 15, 2025 at her home. She was born November 6, 1971 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Charles E. Wayson and Jane Hogue. Jeanie is also preceded in death by a brother and a sister, Juanita Tallent.

A graduate of what is now Little Rock West High School of Innovation, she served at brief time in the United States Army, where she worked as a dental assistant. After an honorable discharge, she pursued her CNA certification and worked for most of her career as a home health aide.

Jeanie was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, where she had served in the chancel choir because of her love of singing. She also served in the Altar Guild, arranged flowers and was active in serving communion.

She enjoyed working in the Haunted Hotel of Arkansas and was known for her portrayal of ''Laughing Sally'' among other characters over the years. Her co-haunters gave her a knick-name, as they learned she was experiencing allergies, so they blended the character name, Laughing Sally with allergy and came up with ''Sallergy.''

Jeanie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 32 years, Tim Macklin of Little Rock; sisters, Brandy Wayson of Saline County, Janie Wayson Rosser of Little Rock, Letha Sanchez of Cleveland, Ohio; her stepmother, Glenda Wayson and nephews, Timothy, Nicholas Cory and nieces, Carol Ann and Krissy.

The family will hold a memorial service at 1:00pm, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 4600 Baseline Road, Little Rock, AR 72209.

I taught Jeanie at Mabelvale Jr High School. She was in the same class as my older son. She was a sweet, quiet girl in my class. Moving forward many years, my family are all members of St Andrew Methodist Church. We moved miles away; however, my mom and pop wanted their funerals to be held in the church. Coming up the steps into the church, Jeanie was the first person I saw the day of Mom's funeral. She guided us into a room, served us and walked around chatting with us as we waited to walk into the sanctuary . For that I will be eternally grateful. My deepest condolences to Tim and the rest of the family. I will continue to pray for you all. Sarah Coleman

My condolences go out to Jeanie's husband. Tim and family. You were a precious gem! You shined in everything you did. Always kind, welcoming new haunters and giving them tips and tricks. We are going to miss you from build to tear down. You were an asset to our business. We will keep your memory going in the haunt forever! It is just not going to feel the same. You bringing me things to decorate with, running many errands and putting your time, sweat and heart into our business.

Furthermore I sure know we will meet again because just because you liked our weird spooky selves( you included) we are all God fearing people too. You knew her love for God, Tim her twin Janie and her haunt family. I could go on and on about you sweet lady but for now. You checked in the Haunted Hotel for the last time in2024 in person but you will live on with us forever.

Rest in love and peace and remember. ''Sallergies'' Jeanie Macklin we love you!
