Irene Slayden Clark

of Conway, AR

June 3, 1941 - May 7, 2025

June 3, 1941 â€" May 7, 2025

Irene Gardner Slayden Clark, 83, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2025. Irene was born on June 3, 1941, to the late Neil and Dorothy Slayden. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Clark. They were married for 55 years.

Irene is survived by her sons, Jimmy Clark (Kelli) of Clarksville and Kenny Clark of Conway; brothers, Joseph Slayden (Pat) and Preston Slayden (Karen), and four grandsons, Dax, Cole, Kyle, and Brody.

Irene lived a life defined by faith, love for her family, and selfless devotion to serve those around her. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She raised a family rooted in love and strong Christian values.

She was a devoted Christian who attended First Baptist Church, Second Baptist Church, and Woodland Heights Baptist Church over the course of her lifetime. Irene's spiritual strength was the cornerstone of her life. Irene's faith was evident in all that she did, whether it was caring for her family or offering support to others in times of need.

Although Irene was a registered nurse, she dedicated much of her life to being a stay-at-home mom. She took great pride in creating a loving, nurturing home where her family could flourish. Her devotion to her husband and sons were traits she carried with grace and humility.

To honor her life, the family will hold a visitation on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. No service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Julia Lee Moore Elementary Backpack Program at 1301 Country Club Road, Conway, Arkansas 72034 or University of the Ozarks 415 North College Avenue, Clarksville, Arkansas 72830.

Though Irene has left this earth, her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Jimmy & Kenny, so sorry to hear about your mother. As you know she and Mr. Clark were such fixtures in Conway. I know her recent years have been hard. Grateful for her life and her reunion in Heaven!

Jimmy, Kenny & Family,
So sorry to learn that you mom had passed away. She was such a wonderful friend and Stanley & I always enjoyed visiting with her anytime we could. She loved her family fiercely and always loved to brag on her boys, especially in the ball playing days. We all enjoyed many Wampus Cat games together. Your mom & I took a cooking class together that lasted several weeks. Those times were always a source of hilarious conversations, mostly because she actually received a great education and I simply enjoyed the meals we prepared! This very special lady will be greatly missed. You will be in our prayers in the days ahead.
